A lot of golfers ask the question 'what driver loft should I play?'
Well today we are going to help you diall in and fully optimise your driver loft!
We are going to try and help you to understand what signs to look out for on the golf course that could mean you driver loft is wrong for you.
Then based on the ball flight you are seeing we can link that to certain swing characteristics and then apply different driver lofts in order to help you optimise your ball flight and distance.
So if you're ready to full optimise you driver loft and gain some yards then watch on and enjoy!

What launch monitor were you using? But yeah from 101 you can get up to around 250 carry but you'd need to be hitting up on the ball to get that so as Jay says, really the absolute best starting point is to work on getting that angle of attack up

Always been fitted into 9 degree lowish spin heads due to delivery. Stiff shafts. 93mph. Most recent fitting suggested I need more launch so I ended up with a reg flex 10.5 driver set up 11. Certainly goes higher but not sure further. So confusing…
@epgolfstudios
@epgolfstudios 7 күн бұрын
Yeah it can be a minefield tbh. Which is why comparing head to head on a launch monitor is really the only way you can tell. Maybe take both of your drivers out on course at a quiet time and try and fit 5 with each on a tee and try and compare them. If you can do that a few times that should start to give you a bit of data to work with and understand which one actually does go further for you. More loft and more launch is great but only if it doesn't make it spin TOO high

Not a clue tbh bud. Would really need to see all the numbers to really answer that properly. Sounds like a lot of loft but again it all depends on what loft you are delivering at impact, that's what really matters. 1k black is a very stout shaft for the speed but again I'm not saying that's not right. When it comes to shaft the only really important things are feel, strike and timing, of you hit the shaft well then it's the right shaft for you. Doesn't matter if it says L or X on it 👌

Can we get similar results turning down an adjustable head from 10.5 to 9.5 or 9.0 recognizing that the face will be slightly more open?
@andrewliberts9258
@andrewliberts9258 6 күн бұрын
You don’t get a lower loft AND an open face. The loft is only lower if you square the face. The face only opens if you let the club fall back into it’s natural position on the ground. But if you let it do that you lose the effects of changing the loft in the hosel.
@marklisaco
@marklisaco 6 күн бұрын
Turning down the loft on an adjustable driver opens the face.
@andrewliberts9258
@andrewliberts9258 6 күн бұрын
@@marklisaco turning down the loft changes the angle in which the shaft enters the head, and effectively tilts the whole head forward; so the loft is changed when the face is square. However, because the whole head has been tilted forward, when the face is square and the new loft presented, the back end of the club is raised off the ground. But most golfers are used to addressing the ball with the feeling of the sole of the club on the ground. When you do that with the head in its new profile, in order to get the sole onto the ground it rotates the face open. But this also returns the club to its original loft - given that you are presenting the head in the position in which you would had you not changed the loft in the first place. Because whatever you do to the hosel, you’re not changing the angle between the sole of the club and the face.

@epgolfstudios
@epgolfstudios 6 күн бұрын
I would say the same principles still apply, looking out for spin (too much or too little) is key. Only thing with less swing speed you may need a little bit more loft than people swinging at 90+ but again that heavily depends on how you deliver it. How you swing the club is far more important than the speed you swing then club.

The numbers people are getting here with the speeds is confusing me. I have swing speed around 94-97 on driver. Not sure what carry, but with a sim max 2 with regular flex I clocked longest drive at 297 total. Not so good hits 250-260 total, but when creamed with a little draw hitting decent. Stiff shaft and lose about 20-30 yard. Also set to 11.25, loft is my enemy so increase loft launches better but got to be careful of the spin especially the days I’m hooking more
@epgolfstudios
@epgolfstudios 7 күн бұрын
That's a bit of a confusing comment to be honest, I understand about half of it 😂 but from that sort of swing speed your not hitting it 297 unless it's heavily downhill, downwind and with very firm fairways. On course my swing speed is around 113 to up to 117 and most of my drives won't go 297 and that's with an optimised driver. The average drive on tour is around 300

Agree with you totally, not sure how get this distance, weather was poor, ground a bit wet, was a frailty flat hole, I’m a high handicapper mainly because of my literal handicap but can hit a ball. I agree, I also need to go away, take some notes to make sure I’m not talking crud. I’m a funny hitter and often deloft clubs but have often reached unusual distances and have greened par 5’s with the second shot being a 7 iron, carry 155-160

So numbers I do know is my 7 wood carries 215-225. My 4 iron is my 200 yard club. 5 wood carries 230 easy. @@turfinteractionsgolf those numbers don’t look bad… what’s the ball flight look like? Big hook or slice? Or maybe you hit it super low? Do you have a stiff or extra stiff shaft? @@turfinteractionsgolf at that speed you really need a stiff or probably extra stiff shaft. That’s probably why your swing is all over the place. If you had a consistent miss I would thinks it’s more about your swing, but if you don’t have any control shaft could help with that.
