Any child of the 80s had nightmares after watching this. The creativity behind it is amazing. Vincent Price has the eeriest voice ever, then you get 3x verses at the beginning leaving 3x chorus at the end so MJ can show off his moves. MJ is one of the very very few artists where 1. No one can really sing/cover his songs and 2. People may be able to dance like him but no one is better than him. All his choreography in all his short films are unique to him only. Lots can do thriller dance, but not as good as him...never. Also the zombies actually stand up well visually to today's standards imo too. Such a timeless song as it's so good people remembering MJ every year.

We had a gathering of friends when this premiered on December 2, 1983, on MTV. It was an amazing production, the best video ever. My kids were 11 and 7 at the time and they went nuts. We stopped and watched it every time it aired. I think this was the best video that Michael ever did. Then Vincent Price at the end was the cherry on the cake. I love Vincent's laugh.

He did one a few years later for TV that was Halloween based. He actually did the old man that tried to run the ghosts out of the old house. Choreography was just so super in all of Michael's videos! Vincent Price has the voice that just added the finishing touch. Wonderful actor, too.

I will never forget watching the premiere of this video on MTV. I must’ve been about 5 y/o and my mom let me stay up late just to watch. I even had a brand new Michael Jackson doll complete with the red jacket and sparkly glove. It was probably a lot for a little kid-I remember being scared by this video, but I’m glad now that she let me stay up to watch! Also, I’m sure people have mentioned, but Janet was one of the zombie dancers in this. Speaking of Janet Jackson, she’s definitely one to check out. “The Pleasure Principle,” or “Rhythm Nation.”

The video? You dancing? You talking back to the characters? You singing along? Your face?!? And that was in between screaming with laughter at the whole thing. Yep. Saw maybe 25%. Right. Let's try that again, shall we? I'll be ready for you this time through....😈

When my kids were little they would play this on Nickelodeon and the Disney channel for the whole month of October, one day when my son was around 4 years old I walked into the living room and he was staring at the TV doing the zombie dance along with the video, he didn't miss a single step!

One of the best songs & best videos ever! Check out Glee version Thriller/Off with Her Head at the football game. Vincent Price voices the monologue at the end of the song & it gives me chills! One the best voices of creepy, also I grew up in Tombstone with Vincent voicing the story of the Shoot Out at the O.K. Corral Btw I can still do this dance step for step
