The problem with people saying “omg it’s just pizza Friday” Is no it’s not. It’s “just” pizza, “just” mass produced cupcakes, cookies, goldfish crackers, juice, candy, holiday themed junk food, etc and on and on… our kids are given CRAP every day at school!!! And then the school lunches and breakfasts which many parents have to rely on is FULL of preservatives and additives and other non food ingredients and lacking in adequate protein. Our school district now offers high schoolers Dominoes DAILY. Most school districts no longer even have daily PE. 3 days a week at most. We have skyrocketing rates of childhood obesity and metabolic disorders and no one is actually doing anything about it. Big Processed Food is WINNING the war. How is this okay?!

I feel for parents today where poor eating habits is the norm. But I agree with Vani Hari that the parents should be in control of what foods come into the home. They are the ones in charge of the household. Kids need that discipline growing up. It’s an uphill battle when trying to do what is good and right in today’s society. Many blessings to you both. 🙏❤️

I'm 4 months and 6 days into carnivore and am now in the realization of how my body was being poisoned. Yes the motive to do carnivore was to loose the pre-diabetic gut (which it has eliminated ). However, all the other issues are now gone. In researching out more, I found that others have eliminated their issues (like similar)

I tried full carnivore for about six weeks and suffered with constipation and chronic dryness in my mouth (dehydration?). Adding a daily salad or non-starchy vegetables to my diet (ie, keto) solved these problems and there was no noticeable decline in my health or mood.

Our mother was a total health nut in the seventies and always trying to gaslight us by telling us that carob tasted just like chocolate and it was GOOD for you. Her passion about not having too much sugar or processed foods had me stealing change to go to 7-11 many days of the week to get my fix. The health food lunches I had to take to school were an embarrassment because I wanted to fit in, not be a health advocate like my Mom. Her tone deafness to the environment I ran in just made me resentful and I rebelled. My brother really hurt her feelings when he told her as a teen that Dominos was way better than her special homemade pizza. See how that works? My mother had good ideas and values BUT the way she acted out her passion and by not seeing our side of things…well, it really backfired on her.

@@benascg-ll7sq I’ve taken to learning about metabolic health. Not ruling out food groups or doing anything extreme but learning more about how energy in the cells work and how to give myself ample nutrition from that standpoint. This simply means understanding some science and avoiding trends and groupthink. I can eat anything and yet through trial and error and understanding my individual context I can actually let go of all the chaos of information out there and do what works for me. It’s very freeing to let go of the fear that pervades our culture around health and exercise and just enjoy and tune into one’s internal guidance system for what works (which can always change and evolve as we age). If you’re interested in a pro-metabolic approach I would suggest checking out the work of Ray Peat and those who are furthering his work.

Your story could be mine. I would throw away my embarrassing lunch from home. It was better to go hungry than get laughed at for dark brown homemade bread and cookies made of yams rolled in carob and coconut. My mother's militant, sugar-free, additive free rules were coming from a good place, but yeah. The implementation did not work. Did your mother read Adele Davis, by any chance?

Dr. Steven Gundry says coconut oil isn’t good for people with an APO4 gene which is a gene making people more susceptible to late onset Alzheimer’s. Just want to mention this since it was mentioned in this video as a good oil. MCT oil oddly seems fine for people who have an APO4 gene.

The missing part of this story is the real conversation the headmaster was having with Domino's, which will probably sacrifice profit just to keep an account. There is also the issue of Domino's position, including its contributions to the so-called pro- life and religious social agendas.
@MrZeissOne Жыл бұрын
Dear Headmaster: You are using OUR money to feed OUR children toxic substances, when you have been entrusted with the Health and Safety of OUR children. WE will pay more of OUR money to insure that OUR children are fed healthy, nutritious food, which poses NO threat to OUR childrens' immune systems. It is penny-wise and pound foolish to feed OUR children toxic substances, which may endanger their immune systems; this neglects the REAL cost of appearing to save a few dollars, but risking illness and threatening the good health of their future.

We akways had a garden as a child. I would help my grandmother in the garden, we woukd snap beans and shuck corn. She would water bath all the garden veg so wr could have it for winter. I do the same for our 15 year old. She has eaten fresh out of the garden since she could walk. She would grab her basket and pick blueberries and strawberries. She still does. We have apple, pear, walnut and pecan trees. She loves all the raw fruit and veg. I could only eat raw fruits, veg and water when I was pregnant with her. Evetythung else made me sick. She doesn't have a taste for meat or dairy. She is healthy and her doc has no complaints. She is on the wrestling team, track, golf and loves racing motorcycles. She can taste chemicals in everything or ahe will say it is too sweet. We make everything from home. I make my own shampoo bars and soap. We use shea butter for moisture since it has a natural SPF. We try to stay away from as many chemicals as possible. People thought I was crazy because she didnt get milk and oreos. She is 15 now. She still chooses healthy food. She went out with some friends and they went to Starbucks. She got a pink drink with coconut milk. She ssid ot tasted ok but she said she didnt feel too good after drinking it.

To CWolff: so sorry about your mom. Have GI infections been ruled out? You said that part of her intestines doesn't work does she have a bowel infarction? Going back to infections has she been checked for C diff? What kind of docs has she been seeing ? Gastroenterologist? Infectious disease docs? Is she hospitalized? How did this develope? When was she last healthy and what precipitated her change? Rule out acute medical problems first then go to functional/ integrative medicine . If her symptoms make no sense in Western medicine try Oriental medicine. Best of luck, keep trying.
