I am level 1 finally diagnosed two years ago at age 54. I am so much like you! I joke with myself that I have “uniforms.” 😂 Because I also have clothes that I like that are comfortable and soft and don’t have tags and so I just get them in several different colors… whether it be for winter or Summer. I don’t bother with make up because I can’t be bothered. When I did wear some in high school it was basically just to bring out my eyes. I also grind my teeth at night and have to wear a night guard. I have a theory that it’s heavy metals in the body that make us grind our teeth. Those very same heavy metals may have caused the autism as well. So I make heavy metal detox smoothies for myself every day. Look up the medical medium heavy metal detox smoothie recipe if you’re interested. Oh, and I don’t really have any style to my hair. I just wear it long and pull it back in a headband. Also, I only wear comfortable shoes. Although I’m middle-aged now so I get to regardless. 😂

I"m sure I'd be level 1 if I had a diagnosis. I relate to what you mentioned about your clothes, hair and eyebrows . Thank you for sharing your story <3

I just got diagnosed with autism recently at 26 (they didn't assign me a number, but I would probably be 1 as well, I live alone and have a full time job).

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm a level 2 human, and I can relate. I have some issues with makeup too. I'm maquillaphobic. Do you know if maquillaphobia occurs more in autistic people?
