@KarleyDanielle Ikr everyone has perpetually razzed me at the beach for not getting in the water. Pfft, salty water, assorted meats~ that's like a soup for something I'd care not to be an ingredient in. It's no coincidence that the New Earth that God is prophesied to create after this Earth( i.e. the reanimated abortion that is what the wretched god of this world tortures daily) is erased in the blink of His eye, the New Earth is covered with trees and there are no oceans. So the Orca were effing awesome in their epoch.

I remember standing on the edge of the deck of an aircraft carrier in port. It is a long way down to the water. Then we went below and the XO shows us a panoramic picture taken on their last deployment. There is the same huge aircraft carrier at the bottom of a trough with water on four sides that is twice as high as the ship. Gives you a new level of respect for the sailors. The ocean is large and mighty.

I will say as much of a "Holy Hell" moment that picture would have been, the ship not only survived, but did so, and probably many waves after that, relatively unscathed and with crew largely uninjured. There is no way a modern US Carrier Battle Group would have gone through something like that and it not be widely known if it was otherwise. On the other side, the image and idea of a ship of that size being tossed about like a child's toy. . .😮😮, makes me remember why I wanted Sub duty when I tried to join the Navy. The sea is always trying its dead best to kill you. In a sub, at least when it is successful, it's so fast you never know it happened. Implosion is a messy way to go, but by damn it's fast.

Imagine being in the Atlantic with no land in sight and you're dealing with a major storm and 60 foot waves. That's when you become very respectful of the ocean and terrified at the same time. This gives me PTSD.
@robert-zj7efАй бұрын
I have been in those very same conditions. I was in the U S NAVY stationed in Charleston, SC. When a hurricane approaches, all ships go to sea and ride out the storm. The ship will pitch and roll to a large degree. 47 and one half degree is the largest roll I have experienced in the Atlantic. In a different time, just after sailing through the Straits of Magellen, I was on the fantail enjoying the large waves. In what seemed like an instant, without moving, I was in seawater up just past my knees. After the water dropoed down, I let go of the metal post and high tailed it to the closest hatch and back inside. I was on a frigate, the USS BLAKELY. My shipmates were not afraid as navy men are professionals and know how to handle rough water.

In 1970 Santa Monica California I was 10 years old it was around midnight me and family members and friends were walking along the shore I felt a little bit behind everybody started digging in to the sand a big wave got me and drug me in I was spinning in circles being pulled in I I didn’t know what was up or down but somehow I felt my feet hit the sand so I started crawling like a crab and I was able to break the viselike grip of the water that was holding me down and eventually I crawled out of the water spitting out sand seaweed and salt water I don’t know how long I was under but I couldn’t see my family I only heard their faint voices Way far ahead of me I eventually caught up with them. It’s pretty frightening nobody knew that I was missing I believe if I didn’t survive they probably wouldn’t have noticed that I was gone until the next day because all the adults were drinking including my mother. Since then I’ve always had respect for the ocean and even though my kids can swim and my grandkids I don’t allow them to go anywhere beyond above their waist in the water. One thing I learned You don’t have time to be afraid when you’re fighting for your life

@@faithradaI’m not sure if I believe in past lives, but when I was a kid I always had dreams of living on a plantation, playing on the dock with two other small children. One was my brother and the other was a red haired girl, in an old fashioned white dress. She pushed me in the lake off the old dock we were standing on. The dreams were repetitive for years. I hated it. It seems like I sank to the bottom for hours and then when I finally hit the bottom my body would jolt me awake. My mother told me she used to have dreams of me drowning too.
@faithrada Жыл бұрын
@cassandrastone7297 I think dreams CAN sometimes be very telling. Years ago I had this very detailed dream where my mom & I had taken a walk in the woods. We found a bench, sat down and started meditating. In our meditation we saw this person. Later that day I started telling her MY dream.. only to find out she had the SAME EXACT dream and saw the SAME person. Another time, mom touched an old wool tie that my dad had gotten as a present from a cousin that my mother had never met and did not know her name. In a dream that night she saw the tie and this cousin appeared & told mom her name. When she shared this with dad he confirmed that yes, that was his cousin who gave him the tie. So, yes... sometimes dreams are just dreams, while other times they are definitely conveying deeper messages . The Universe is always speaking to us... we just need to learn how to listen. PS: BTW... there are no coincidences. : )

This is at Teahupoo in French Polynesia. Known as “End of the Road” which wasn’t widely surfed until the nineties. The bottom drops to more than 1,000 feet deep just 1/3 mile offshore, and more than one mile deep just three miles offshore. As a result, swells don't feel the ocean floor until they are about 1/2 mile from shore, allowing the open-ocean energy to march virtually unimpeded into the reef at Teahupoo.

That night, I went out to the beach at 2am and just jumped into the dark water and swam against the waves as long as I could. Then let the waves bring me back to shore once I was tired. I'm afraid of the ocean esp deep water. And nothing is more terrifying than the pitch black ocean at night to me. I still don't know how I did it like seriously seriously ( thank God made it back to my home state a day ago now). But it sure snapped me out of my severe depression and hopelessness I was feeling over my break up and being scared about being stranded in another state with no phone, money, or transportation. I get really really anxious re thinking about it and don't think I could do that again. Stupidly enough, I did a lot of drinking that night first which probably helped the fear but also put myself in a dangerous situation. And now people are telling me great whites eat the seals by la Jolla cove out close to where I was swimming in "deep" pitch black ocean. I get more freaked out thinking about it now. Sure woke me TF up out of my crying spell though lol

Same. I am extremely intimidated by large bodies of water. I feel so small in its vastness.

WoW! Not a rogue wave. What happened beneath the ocean to create that type of water displacement? Whales🐋 or an earthquake? I'll be watching from my couch!😊

I love the ocean. I’m captivated by its beauty and its power. No way I’m going out in those waves, though. I love the beauty of a fire, too, but I’m not going to go play in it. Lol Many of the most beautiful things are also the most dangerous and terrifying. Gotta respect the beauty God created. 🌊 ❤
