0:00 Introduction: One of the worst foods you could eat
0:31 Symptoms of liver problems
4:13 The #1 worst food for your liver
4:56 Omega-6 fats explained
7:10 Replacing unhealthy oils
In this video, we’re going to talk about one of the worst foods you could eat, especially for liver health. There are generally very few symptoms of liver problems. When I had liver problems, I experienced right shoulder blade pain and pain beneath my right rib cage.
It’s a myth that liver damage is permanent. The liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate itself 100%. Another myth is that the liver is filled with toxins. The liver detoxifies poisons, it doesn't store them.
The worst “food” or ingredient for your liver is seed oils. Seed oils are damaging, inflammatory, and high in omega-6 fats, specifically linoleic acid. Lard contains about 2.5% linoleic acid, and tallow only contains 0.7%. Corn oil contains 56.6% linoleic acid!
Seed oils contain oxidized linoleic acid that can cause significant oxidative damage in the body, especially in the liver and the nervous system.
The average diet is 25 to 30% seed oils, which is too much. Seed oils become lodged in our fat cells and the membranes surrounding the nervous system and can remain there for 2 to 3 years.
Seed oils can’t be used for energy. They inflame the liver and contribute to insulin resistance. You should avoid seed oils, including canola oil, soy oil, and cottonseed oil, which are commonly labeled as vegetable oil.
Always check food labels and avoid seed oils and foods that contain them. Replace seed oils with oils high in omega-3 fatty acids rather than omega-6. Reduce your consumption of grain-fed animal products and look for grass-fed meats.

I’m consuming daily olive oil. It’s planted by myself in the mountains in Morocco, no pesticides and not even extra water except from natural rain. My grandma lived until 112 years of age, and most people in that village will live until 90. We all eat our own growth olives. We don’t use butter.

My husband and I have been carnivore/keto for nearly a year and we are feeling much better. One very busy day to make life easier, we got nonbreaded plain chicken wings from the Publix deli. After eating 5, I felt as though I had a weighted ballon in my stomach. The next morning I could barely squeeze my fingers closed into a fist. My husband had the same experience. I hadn’t had that much inflammation since going on a boozy bender. We contacted Publix and discovered that they fry their wings in a mixture of corn and cotton seed oil. I believe every word in this video because our my personal experience. We will not be using/consuming anything with seed oils. They should be marked as poison!

@@Arek_R.generally, grass fed is a premium product and will be labeled as “grass fed”. If the label does not specify whether other is grass fed or grain fed you ought to assume it is grain fed. An exception would be in an area where all of the local cattle eat only grass. In that scenario you might assume it is grass fed because that is the only beef available.

Not sure what your options are in the UK. I live in Oklahoma in the US. 10 years ago I drove out to the country, knocked on a ranchers door and bought a steer from him. He takes it the butcher for me, and I go pick the meat up. It’s more expensive, but I know the beef is grass fed, and I know exactly where it came from. I have been doing the same thing for 10 years now. I know not everyone has the space to store a whole steer. But if you do, I would highly recommend this option over buying from the grocery store. If you can’t afford to pay for the whole steer at once, find a neighbor, or family member that is up for it, and each of you pay for a side of beef.

I think there is a difference in how or even if a liver can heal depending on whether the damage is non alcoholic vrs alcoholic. Once the liver is scarred too severely(cirrhosis of the liver) it just can’t regenerate and can’t function. A good substitute for seed oils is also coconut oil. It has also around only 1.5 to 2% of Linoleic acid. Olive oil has less than 1%. Think about it, Italians lived on variety of pastas as main cuisine for generations, and were never chronically obese or unhealthy. They cook and coat all their pastas in olive oil ONLY. Adding a chunk of liver does not regenerate itself, you have to remove the liver because cirrhosis is dead tissue. A chunk from a donor and then transplanted into the patient. The chunk will grow back to full size and the donor’s liver will grow back. Two years ago I had a liver transplant and had a lot of discussions with my doctor and a chunk would not be able to perform

My close uncle died cuz he was cancer patient and even one year after turbo plandemy, his doctor refused to give him therapy if he doesnt take vaccine. He believed the doctor and took it, 1 week after, all of sudden he eneded up in emergency and died, wasnt even close to dying stage. But whatever we write, noone will listen UNLESS it happens to them. But then its usually already too late. I cut down almost all market food, i just planted 200 tomatoes and peppers last week.

As great as that sounds, hospitals and big pharma don’t want to cure but instead treat for life with drugs. My mom passed last year and the foods they were offering/giving her in her last 10 days were not good for someone with her liver issues. Granted the proper foods wouldn’t have helped in the end at that point, but someone with a fighting chance would be let down if they trusted the hospital to give them the correct foods.

TURN 59 NEXT MONTH - I have never had an alcoholic drink or even coffee. I still have a full head of dark hair and my facial hair is still dark too. Zero wrinkles. People at work always guess I'm around 37-40 years old. My younger brother drinks. He is mistaken for my father all the time when we are together. He hates it. He went grey and balding over 15 years ago. Not to mention his face looks weathered. Stay away from alcohol.

Mine is a different experience. I'm older than you by 8 years but look much younger than your age. Drank gallons of whiskey, beer, and plenty of other things alcohol in my life and it hasn't had any real effect on how I look now. Don't drink any more though. Smoked until I was over 50. Have one younger brother and one older and both of them have always looked much older than me. They have been bald for years now and I still have a full head of hair with hardly and grey showing. They look more like our father who passed at 78 and I look more like my mother who is 91 and still rolling along. My older brother has a hard time getting around, my younger brother has issues now and again, and I'm still very active and getting around like I'm in my 40's. It's genetics in our case I'm thinking. I always drank lots of water in my life too. Eat a clean diet now, one coffee a day and still continue to drink lots of water.

Dr Berg notes: In this video, we’re going to talk about one of the worst foods you could eat, especially for liver health. Thank you Dr Berg!

I had an uncle who passed away of liver and bile duct cancer the spread to his pancreas as well and he really had no symptoms until his last 6 months but the doctor said his cancer was probably growing for 2.5 years, so I urge everyone to take care of your liver and if you can afford to do so get a fibroscan which will look at whether you have any scar tissue ,fatty liver, or any tumours. Once your liver is damaged you are in for a lot of suffering. Stay healthy everyone ❤ Thank you Dr. Berg!

@@beebee4334yeah my uncle lost about 20 lb he was never really heavy at all he did drink however but he was just working so hard in the last year because the farm he managed was up for sale so people just thought he was losing weight cuz he was tired from so much work but really it was the liver cancer and the day he got diagnosed was actually the first day of his retirement and his retirement party was scheduled for the next night but he never actually left the hospital and died within 10 days so I always urge people to try to get preventive Diagnostics if they can afford it and the liver scan is actually one that is quite affordable. In general in Canada here we treat Illness but we don't spend a lot of money on preventative care and we have to pay out of pocket for these kinds of things which are so cheap in Asia but I guess we have access to Universal care so that's a good thing as well but yeah I'm sorry for your loss❤

Back in the 80's I worked at McDonald's. At that time they were using beef tallow to deep fry everything. It came in a box as it was solid at room temperature. Due to social pressures they have changed to seed oil as it's "healthier".

Most of the "social pressure" came from vegans who couldn't eat anything at McDonald's except the fries, as long as they were fried in plant (seed) oils. McDonald's should have just told them no because the fries were actually good then!

I quit sugar and grains/seeds (+oils) about a month ago. Been dizzy for 2 days from sugar detox, 14 days in, because i already consumed way less augar than avarage. I feel more energized, wake up without being tired, my bowel movement is what it should be now. Need to go after i had a coffee. So now im cutting down on coffee. Maybe incan gain some weigth instead of plunging all nutrients in the toilet and having many inflamations.

The ultrasound showed the gallbladder and liver were healthy according to them and they wrote me off with the likelihood of ulcers. Something tells me its not ulcers. Anyway....Ive said in comments before and Ill say it again....God bless youfor all you do❤ I will definitely get the two supplements you recommended in the next video and pray they help.

Thanks Eric I have followed alll of your liver based illness videos because I am being treated for a liver with some cirrhosis and that fatty condition. My specialist told me to lose weight and gone onto a high protein diet and I started to eat cruciferous vegetables and high protein foods like organically grown and grass fed meats whenever I can get them. I have also given away sugar and carbs only consuming them with the lowest content possible for example Greek yoghurt. Now I am 77 years old and down to my ideal weight and feeling so much better for being so and even this also helps with the pressure on my joints which I suffer chronic pain all the time but has helped to reduce the opioid patch dose to a minimum so thank you so much.

Thank you Dr Berg for this information and my daily consumption of the oils you discuss is minimal therefore that is practice that I will never change. However I would like to ask you if using a small amount of vegetable oils (soy) or a grape seed oil for grilling or coating a pan for cooking the beef is potentially something that is a problem waiting to happen. I appreciate any comment you have on that as it is hard to prep a a cooking surface without something that is an “oil” of some type. Thank you.

When I was pregnant I had liver problems. I kept telling my doctor I was very itchy on my palms and had little bumps on them. He shrugged it off basically to allergies until it progressively got worse and I told him no this is not how I have allergic reactions. So he finally ran tests. When he finally read them a week later he rushed me in for emergency c section. Always be an advocate for yourself if you know something’s off with you or your child’s body.

i thought it was maltodextrin
@courtneyderouen
@courtneyderouen 15 күн бұрын
That’s the most dangerous carbohydrate. From Dr Berg: Maltodextrin is GMO, refined, and highly processed. It can lead to belly fat, diabetes, and gut inflammation, yet it's considered safe. Even though maltodextrin is not a sugar and it's not sweet, it behaves like sugar in the body. It's also higher than sugar on the glycemic index. Maltodextrin is an ingredient in many different products, from chips to seasonings, supplements, and infant formulas. It's even in certain drinks like light beer, energy drinks, and sports drinks. Because it's not classified as a sugar, maltodextrin can also be added to sugar-free products even though it behaves like a sugar. It’s literally poison. Worst for insulin spikes.

The tightness in the right shoulder near the neck caught my attention. I wish you would explain that in detail. I had the tightness in the right upper back and neck region for 10 years, and recently it included numbness, tingling, and a bad complexion in the right upper back. All of this went away after seeing a chiropractor who massaged and adjusted my back (about 7 weekly sessions). At the same time I also cut back on my alcohol to just 3 glasses of white wine each night. I think the chiropractor fixed the problem but it may have been the alcohol. I think the nerves in the spine are a factor.

I stopped eating salads at restaurants because many use those fake oils in their salad dressing. They get it in bulk too. They don’t make their own. Some don’t even have Olive Oil at all unless you go to a true Italian restaurant. How can you serve Italian dressing with canola or corn oil? I bring it home and use my own. Same with all the salad dressing bottles sold in the stores. I think I found two that used Olive Oil only. Many say Olive Oil on the front but ingredients show canola or corn as first and Olive oil as second or third ingredient, not to mention some other ingredients that I wouldn’t even know how to pronounce. Definitely a pass. These fake oils are in everything, bread, cakes, cookies, creams, coffee creamers, candy, fried foods, frozen dinners, and zillion more, items that are being consumed the most. No wonder we have so many unhealthy people that are not only overweight but also obese. Too much junk food.

Seed oils is a term for oils that are made from seeds such as sunflower seed, canola seed, grapeseed, etc., but the term has now come to include corn and soy oil which are not from seeds, but are produced and used in a similar way to seed oils, and they have similar characteristics, as well.

One thing with keto that really hit home is going back and thinking about all those people who ate bacon and eggs every day that lived into their 90s who also smoked or drank alcohol every day. According to "common" modern knowledge they were doing everything wrong and unhealthy but at times it seemed like they were the only healthy ones. It also goes to show how resilient the body can be to damage, especially when consuming an otherwise healthy diet.

Still had all her own teeth, no meds. We had a dripping container where mum and nan poured the fat from cooking into it. It turned into lard, and they cooked meat and roast vegetables in it.
