Honestly if any of the Sims 4 gaming creators criticise this game for lack of gameplay i'm going to call BS. This seems like exactly what most new gen sims players want, pretty graphics, pretty hair, pretty clothes... style over substance, so it will be interesting to see the reaction from that community.

lol I thought that myself. Sims 4 for a lot of people seems to have devolved into doll houses and making pretty sims but not playing the game much. All style and no substance games should appeal. I am hoping this one has substance and that all the Sims-style games in the works do because I want there to be healthy competition for better games. ETA: Sounds rude on reread. I prefer gameplay, but there is absolutely nothing wrong in playing any game for your own reasons and in the manner you like. Clearly, I miss a lot of the quirky crazy and choice found in older Sims games & wish Sims 4 had kept to that. TBH, I doubt Project Renee offers us anything more than this one here does & hope I am wrong and that it offers something great for every simmer, no matter their playstyle.

The one thing I’ve seen that seems shallow so far for this game is the family gameplay, there’s no interacts with the babies and toddlers, you can leave your babies at home and don’t have to take care of them and the pregnancy phase has nothing to it.

Sims can look great with custom content. There are millions of free downloads out there. Slap some skins, better hair textures, eye overlays etc. on them and they look MUCH better. Also, since sims 4 got this elaborate sex mod, people will probably stick to that until something equal comes along...cause alllllot of little horny folks are using that one and play it only for that reason.

Gifting reviewers gaming PCs is extremely problematic. Even if you don't explicitly ask them to review your game favorably, the fact you gave them such an expensive gift will inevitably affect their review and compell them to be more positive than they otherwise would.

Gifting 2-4,000 USD PCs for review is extremely worrying. Say if even just 4 people were given PCs to review it; the company’s spending at minimum 8,000 USD on marketing for a game that is still in development!! A better financial decision would be to finish the development for release, then do a 1 or 2 week-long Free Demo Week/s. THAT will get people to buy your game!! THAT will get people to review it without the company having to send out PCs!! THAT will ensure that all the budget before release went to the devs!!

I've never heard of this game and the situation with certain creators being gifted gaming PCs by the devs until now, but I definitely agree that this creates a conflict of interest. You may want to give your honest feedback on a product, but would giving that feedback result in you being cut off from more freebies from that company? It's not surprising that people who get free game copies from EA sugarcoat their thoughts and say that something is good even when it's clearly not if it meant they'd still get free stuff. Side note, I can't help but feel like this game's graphics look like something that was AI generated, but maybe that's just me.

is not that is IA, although ingame there is a function to make IA textures, but more that reallistic 3D assets look all the same cause, well, they mimic reality. Also, the characters look a lot like Metahumans from unreal, the motor they are using for the game, so maybe that's why it gives IA vibes, cause those metahumans are everywhere

They said they scanned the models from real life and send them off to be textured. Given the use of AI generation in the game, I HIGHLY doubt they didn't also use AI to create the textures for the game. And they only started working on it a year ago? PLUS Krafton, the parent company is VERY invested in AI down to using AI voices too.

the ones I have seen play it on twitch are open about the fact they they were gifted a computer. they said it's because the game wasn't optimized yet to work on all types of hardware. aCottonsock that were a play tester, got the computer very late and played like 80% on her own computer.

The lack of content on babies is crazy and the gameplay looks like it still needs serious work. I have high hopes for this game however what concerns me is the whole sending out PC thing. Not because I think the content creator’s opinions are being persuaded in favor of the game but because the specs are insane paired with the insane graphics. My current gaming laptop runs games well but the only game it fails to run smoothly is Hogwart’s Legacy and that’s a fairly new game. So i’m just worried what if InZOI is gonna be another instance of this? I hope not and i hope they optimize it because I really wanna play this game.

I enjoyed your review and respect your opinion. Personally, I don't mind a reviewer being gifted the laptop to review a game, as long as 1) they clearly announce it and mention current spec requirements 2) or more voracious and methodical in their review. Like a risk manager being paid to find issues. I've watched some of the early game play review and most of them are fluff, which is disappointing. E.g . They are excited they can make it rain/snow, but don't mention that the Zoi should be reacting to the temperature. They say you can create a family in the create part, but don't show the kids creation setting. I think they should test the interactions, see what moods Zois have, check if appliances function. Etc. A youtuber exclaimed about noticing a height difference as she played in world- if she was more methodical, she would have been checking for this in create mode. Also, having the cat sit on the stool in create mode is very misleading, suggesting pets can be created.

Excellent points. What I find annoying is, the more these gaming companies promise more 'realism' in their games, the more fake they become... For example: who in real life can control the weather?? Why would you even want to do that? To always have sunny weather? What about other parts of the world always being too hot?? Unreal.. One reviewer mentioned that when she left for work, there was no one to call to watch her baby at home, nor anywhere to take her kid to be watched...baby was left home alone..wtf?. And, in another game: Life By You, they will allow you to 'look in' on your neighbors to see what they are doing by being able to see through the rooftops of each home.. Who's able to do this in real life without serious consequences? lol This is why I still in enjoy The Sims. It has never taken itself too seriously...because it is 'simulation' of life and not an imitation. New life Sims are trying too hard to appear 'real'. And I think it will fall flat with this approach. Because we could just live our own real lives...better.

@@Sim-dil-e-icious the sims 2 is 20 years old and has 18 pieces of dlc. The sims 3 is 15 years old and has 20 pieces of dlc. Both of those games are leagues above the sims 4 in gameplay and lots of sims fans prefer those games over the sims 4 to this day. This is because the developers made those games to be fun and detailed even without any expansion packs. The sims 4 is beautiful and great for building, but gameplay wise is only an empty vehicle for dlc. There are 70 pieces of dlc and more on the way. The gameplay without any packs is shallow and boring. And the majority of packs don't improve or change gameplay much. EA knows that there is no competition in the life sim genre and that their fans are incredibly dedicated to the game. They know that as long as they keep selling dlc, fans will buy it. So, there is no incentive to make future games with the care and detail that was put into previous games.

These graphics and the style overall,look so good that they almost look refreshing in the sea of cartoony life sims. The same way I see that,I can also say Paralives is also setting itself apart with graphics that are both cartoony and rough(not smooth like sims or Life By You so far) and I appreciate that. For a game only one year in development(from what I understand)InZoi looks fantastic. I was confused at first at how much of the game is already done,but hearing about them sending 3000$ PCs to creators eases my mind,ironically. They`ve got MONEY. The fact Alex’s first game is Paralives,I’m impressed with his(and his team’s ambition) and they should take all the time they need. Life by you has great things(being able to choose an option during conversation in a life sim is straight up genius), but if it’s going where I think it’s going then it might just be a bit too much for me. But I’m still so excited there are so many life sim games being released.

This 100% needed to be said. When I was told about this game from a friend, I was blown away. But over the next couple of days I realized something a little weird about the reviews. I only found one that pointed out the cons with the pros equally and others were leaning towards the positive. And now learning there was a pretty high insensitive given when reviewing this game let’s me know it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt. Like you said, the reviewers don’t really have fault in this. If I was given a pc I would accept it too. I just wish the community could look at this with open minds instead of condemning one side or the other. They seem to have a bad habit of doing that…

I like the way it looks, but as you said graphics aren't everything. What I'm hoping is that it will not be riddled with microtransactions or will have to have a really expensive computer to run, because that creates problems accessing it. Never preorder games, wait until they come out, then you won't be disappointed to part with your money.

So you want a cellulite, acne, and maybe a nail fungus slider? These are the types of things that make people unattractive in real life, but it's no mystery that most people don't want these things for their simulation characters. The game already has a weight slider, and it can go pretty high, and you can adjust facial structure and facial feature placement. If all the videos you saw only had attractive characters, then that should demonstrate what people prefer.

Most of the premade sims (in 4 at least) are mostly pretty or at least average, but that's a very subjective topic. Korea is known to have a very strict standard for beauty.

the thing you mentioned about korean beauty standards was my first thought. from what i’ve seen of this game it seems very korean beauty centric. it also has unrealistic body types in the sense that the caharacters are quite skinny and it’s shown to people as “this is an average person”. i don’t think that’s good at all. i don’t think we need another game that lies to people about how they should look. i feel like we already don’t have a good grasp on what a healthy body looks like societally. i hate the sims 4 for its shitty proportions already so something realistic sounds great… if it was ACTUALLY realistic

This adds for another reason not to consider the game, my PC won't even handle it lol I don't have hopes for this game due the AI in the game, as I found out from 2 reviews that the game has AI in it. I don't think any user is able to run a AI/ML system because it does need tons of money for the data servers, electricity & to cool it (unless they're just based on existing genAI like OpenAI or Midjourney), and probably you do need a beefy computer to handle the game + AI... but it might be an online feature only due to the costs

Personally, I am not a fan of the graphics because the fact that they are very realistic makes me feel a little strange, plus I have never played games of that style because I don't have a computer that supports them lol, when the game comes out I don't think I will play it but It's my own perspective, but I really hope it's a good game so that it also competes with EA

Maybe they just wanted the previews of their game to look good and run smoothly. Most content creators have stupid op pc's anyway. I have a good pc and just looking at Inzoi makes me wonder if I'll just barely make the specs cause it's a few years old now. Like, just use your brain. If someone has a janky ass laptop and it can barely run the Sims 4 smoothly with all the CC they use, logic would say, Inzoi will decimate it. Logic. Don't get all high on yourself cause they supported a content creator so they can advertise their beautiful game. Also, never trust a content creators words, make your own decisions and base them off user reviews and what you can see with your own eyes.

Paralives may become a nice competitor (if the game is real), but this one seems to demand a lot from a pc and this will shrink the demographics who can play it. You can play sims 4 in any pc and console, you don't need any NASA pc to do it. Btw, the only reason I don't think this game is a total scam it's because they sent it to players (but gifting a gaming pc was a bit wild, the amount of money wtf). Paralives, on the other hand, makes me feel like it's a scam and they are mocking us by rendering fake gameplays.

Completely agree with the depth of gameplay point. I loved the trailer and the graphics but it's still to early to tell what the game will truly offer but I'm also of the opinion that expecting that from an announcement trailer is a bit too much so we just have to find out. The Sims 4 suffers this exact problem pretty to look at (for some people) but when you sit down to play you get bored pretty easily because the gameplay is so shallow. This one and LBY are definitely on my list since I love the realistic look of that they are going for but I'm still waiting to see more of the gameplay before I hop on the hype train.

ACS had a good (in-as-far-as-she-could-go) review for this game. It is beautiful, but so far one year onto its development, it seems like a building simulator with pretty Zoi's walking around. We shall see if the gameplay any better before it's release. As far as the computer gifts go, yeah those gifts are small compared to some of the gifts I've heard about for reviews. I don't really trust anyone on YT for reviews.

The CCs totally could have been more transparent about receiving and being able to keep the PCs. The game is not even finished and looks amazing it does not need much paid promo. We could have a healthy dialogue on what needs to be worked on or even gauging if they need PCs with high specs. I hope the INZOI team properly takes feedback and utilizes them well before release. I'm beyond excited for it and hope it isn't to good to be true.

The more competition for the Sims is honestly in my opinion the best thing for the franchise. Seeing how amazing Inzoi looks shows how much more work needs to be done on the Sims. Second, Life by you’s complete mod-ability also shows how much EA is cash grabby with the Sims 4. And hopefully this game will push life by you and paralives to be better and actually give us a life simulator not a doll house. I'm hopeful, for us getting more options! I have a good feeling about inzoi tho. Might just push the Sims back in the direction it was supposed to go. Fun, funky, and just all-around weird.

If you're going to point out the pc situation. Actually state the entire reason. They were given those computers because the developers said that inzoi is not optimized yet and wouldnt be able to play on low spec pc's. So, as payment they gifted these creators these pc's in order for them to showcase their newly developed game. Either way when people apply to showcase a game or product or a company ask them there is always some sort of transaction. Cyberpunk was poorly optimized when it first came out but they fixed it so that people can enjoy the game.

Thank you for mentioning that everyone who received a copy of this game to "review" was bribed by a high end gaming PC. I'll leave it up to individuals to decide how much this influenced the reviewers. I'm sure some people really try hard not to let that happen. Others? Maybe not so much. The game looks amazing. I'm worried about microtransactions, lack of elder-centric clothing, babies that look like they might be objects, the lack of diversity in looks (you nailed it about no subpar looking characters) and actual gameplay. In the end, I hope it's everything eveyrone wants. I hope all the EA-challengers put out terrific games because competition is good.

Hyper realistic graphics have such a high chance of aging so it poorly. Sims is timeless in terms of design of the sims, it’s stylized so it’s timeless, even with mods they still have a stylized like charm. Games that use hyper realism tend to age badly the more time passes. This doesn’t apply to every game with hyper realism. But too many just age badly. Hyper realism in games always gives an uncanny atmosphere with vocals that never line up well with mouth movements and poor lighting just looks odd. Fallout for in terms of character design just looks so bad and off now that time has passed and graphics have gotten better. I do believe games can have realistic textures and can look great because in terms of character design they’re still stylized but the graphics look stunning (ff7 remake, little nightmares etc)
