honestly it looks better than the second clip. They look too fat and short

@@NileMcKenna yeah kind of what I was thinking there’s probably an in between I don’t know what it is but it’s out there somewhere I wasn’t really all that bothered by the thin sabers I thought the close-ups with the sabers look really cool at times I feel like if people are looking at the sword that much they’re not looking at what makes rebels look and feel super cool.
@dunwannitok19 күн бұрын
For me it's the exact opposite, the thin ones fit the Rebels animation style better.
@michaelyoung399219 күн бұрын
Thin lightsabers fit the aesthetic of rebels better. The art style of the show is far better than people give it credit.

I actually made that thick lightsaber edit of obi-wan vs maul a few years ago! Awesome to see that it’s still being discussed today lol 😅

I didn’t mind. After I saw the thin lightsabers enough it didn’t bother as much as it does with other folk.

Hence it was close to the OT, Rebels nailed it with the thin sabers.
@thesurp7252019 күн бұрын
It looks better. However this scene is one of my favorite scenes in Star Wars and I've seen it so many times, so it feels kinda weird with thicker lightsabers.
@Daniel.RF.Davidson18 күн бұрын
I like it precisely because it was a reference to Mcquarie's work. I think it's a nice homage.
@Moth-pz9vg19 күн бұрын
Fun fact: some sabers allow you to adjust their thickness. So Star Wars rebels is lore friendly
@MasterofMonkeys1619 күн бұрын
At first i thought that the rebels animation style was kinda bad, especially compared to clone wars. But I started to like it more as time went on, definitely one of the best Disney Star Wars projects.

Personally I think the composited blade removes the motion blur and fluctuating thickness the original had, and it feels slightly off how the 2D blade covers the 3D model in the video Regardless this is a good edit

I don't think the word "all" applies to star wars since Return of the Jedi. It's been one big controversy ever since.

I don't like how thin lightsabers look, but it makes sence. You have a laser hlade which can not be broken unless the source is

I like the thick sabers. But I also wish that the characters armor (not plot) didn’t bend and twist with their bodies. It’s annoying to see plastoid (stormtrooper armor material), which is supposed to be solid and not flexible, twist with their arms! This was also a problem with the clones and Kanan

I still wish Rebels had the same art style as Clone Wars.

While I like the wider-bladed sabres better, I really think the helicopter sabres were a far worse decision than the thin-bladed sabres.

I hated the thin sabers.. one of the worst parts of the design for the show.. I’m just so used to the Clone Wars and all other Star Wars media… I’ve got other issues with Rebels I’ll not delve into, but it was not my favorite show.

I don't think it looks better, but generally, the Rebels doesn't look that good. I am not saying they needed to adapt the same style the Clone Wars had, but this smooth and grotesque style made it really hard to watch overall. In my opinion, the lightsabers are the least important problem.

I personally feel Ralph Macquarie's art is way over-rated. It inspired the original designs, but they didn't remain faithful to it for a reason. It wasn't that good. I always feel that going back to it is a mistake.
