I've lived in Brookings oregon for 44 years! Been all along boardman, the next turnout past natural bridges, thunder rock, the whole point shakes and can sound like a thunderstorm even though it can b clear! U went down to secret Beach, u can walk south ,if tide is right, there I a natural bridge,, when tide is right, the waves slamming is what makes the thunder noise and shakes that whole point! There is also a big arch off shore, mack arch, at the north end of boardman, but u can't see from hwy 101, u can get a distant view way back at house rock viewpoint back by cape Ferraro! Long ago a buddy wanted to fly a small plane thru it! Glad u enjoyed ur visit! God bless!

Back in the old days, there was a wood plank under Thomas creek Bridge where we could walk out half way, little scary! Now it's fenced off

The Northwest is the only section of the US I have not ever been in. You guys are sure as hell selling the need to visit! Next Spring, I should be doing the whole trip from San Diego to Vancouver, so I'll be making notes. Thanks for sharing!

Also in Oregon and could spend forever exploring the state! There's so much to see here, on the coast and inland. Wild.

FYI, I'm pretty sure the bottom of the cubby/shelf where the shower is folds down to give a little more room. Really enjoyed the video. Beautiful scenery over there!

FYI: The bottom of the shower compartment unlatches and drops down to give you a more squared off stall. Loved your video content of the Oregon Coast. Once I have my Storyteller Beast that will be one of my first destinations.

We learned that on day 3 I believe! Haha Oregon is amazing enjoy the beast! That thing really is a BEAST!

u forgot to pull out the bottom part of the cabinet of the shower for more shower room, there should be 2 knobs on both sides.

The west coast is nice to look at but I still like the east coast over all a lot better!............. but that's me!............. have a great time!
@MathersOnTheMap2 жыл бұрын
That’s a fair point! Ya can’t really have a typical east coast beach day along the Oregon coast rarely warm enough.

I’m loving that you are showcasing the Storyteller Overland. We have a Classic Mode 4x4 and really enjoy it. We did a motorcycle trip down the Oregon coast a few years back but unfortunately we missed all those beautiful spots you two visited. Now we have a reason to go back. We look forward to your videos. Keep em’ coming. You should host a van meet up.
@MathersOnTheMap2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! The van is sick!! A motorcycle trip down the coast sounds like a blast!! We still have plenty to see in Oregon there’s sooo much! Haha a van meet up? That sounds fun!

Thanks for making tonight “Oregon Tuesday” at our house! Grilled wild caught Pacific salmon, dry Riesling from the Columbia River Valley and your video… PERFECTION! As good as the drive along PCH? Monterey or Santa Barbara? I don’t know man…. sunshine, surf, top down on the convertible and Beach Boys tunes playing… see my point? Thumbs up on sharing Oregon’s tallest bridge… Loved your coastline hikes… reminds us a lot of Point Lobos Marine Reserve near Carmel, CA. Mexican Salad? As the saying goes… you can take the couple out of Baja, but not… well you know the rest… lol Did you tour the Columbia River Gorge Valley and Mount Hood west of Portland this trip? AWESOME VIDEO! WELCOME BACK FELLOW LEFT COASTERS!
@MathersOnTheMap2 жыл бұрын
Haha that’s awesome! Glad are episode fit well with your dinner! Agh that’s a tough one, the Oregon coast you can find places and have it all to yourselves which I think is why I love it so much. Still missing Baja it’s been too long since I surfed. Longest I’ve gone in awhile! The Columbia River gorge is the last episode of the Oregon series probably 3 or 4 episodes to go

Also can we get a little feedback on preference as to fabric spray tacked wall panels in that van VS t&g, or shiplap slats like yours any so many others.... Sound deadening inside, echo, insulation from ext noise etc..?
@MathersOnTheMap2 жыл бұрын
I think there will be a bit of rattle and squeaking in every van haha. To be honest we heard noise in the storyteller and we hear noises in ours. I think it’s inevitable
