The helm consul , particularly in the lower pilot house is the only picky part which doesn’t appeal. Thanks for sharing.

Why did they block the bridge view with that weird shape on the dashboard?

The interior designer had more say than the sailor! Seems a poor choice from the various camera views we can see.

Crazy doing that, the designer must have been hitting the bottle or had a nightmare the day he designed it, just not right taking from the line of sight like that. 😮

Stylish yacht with unusual interior design with the two cabins at the stern. There, the constructivists have diverged from the others in their thinking. I like that. Thanks for the viewing.

Absolute unique and futuristic Design and Layout. The used Colors and Materials are absolut on Point and great Quality. The only Critique would be the "small" Galley, but you mentioned her Cruise Area in the Med so for this use it works well. So and now i have to give you John a absolut great Compliment for the new Design/Layout of your Videos. The quality and moderation where always great, but you did another Level with this great Changes. Also the longer Duration allows more Details and changing Views. All the best Wishes from Germany.

“ indirect lighting” a term to readily used by yacht tubers. A light in the ceiling is not necessarily indirect but it seems that all my favourite yacht tourers love the term.

I do worry about hull integrity on yachts with so much glass. In yesteryear, we required to screw down our much smaller porthole covers in gnarly seas. Now, it seems, we no longer require to do so. Like I say, it would be of serious concern to a natural worrier like myself!
@krigry32Ай бұрын
The boat is built for the Mediterranean which is not known for heavy seas. Here in Norway we have the expression "a Mediterranean sailor "which means a person that has not gone through any hardship in life.
@bizarremagickАй бұрын
The glass won't be a problem because like most of these boats, it will spend 99% of its life moored up in an expensive marina!
@johnnierainey01Ай бұрын
@@bizarremagick Agreed, however this is billed as an explorer yacht...inferring some travelling, at least.
@bizarremagickАй бұрын
Yes they are 'billed' as explorer yachts. It is a bit like someone in the middle of a city buying a large 4x4 car and using it mainly for the school run. It's all about the look...

Enjoyable tour, thanks. Really liked the boat, although the helm design seemed more form over function and it seemed odd that the only access to the aft deck and fly was through the wheelhouse.

Deluxe floating bachelor pad. Beautiful design features throughout the boat. Beach club is fantastic. Owners stateroom is state of the art pleasure palace. Other guest accommodations are first rate, especially VIP/Captains cabin. Galley and crew quarters are functional. Did not like the weird view blocking helm station. Engine room access not very helpful. Summed up, nice boat for a younger single owner, or younger jet set married couple.

The deck windows are thick, like as thick as the pilot house windows. They have plexiglass protective window covers they screw down over the ones on the deck that strengthen them for crossing oceans. The ones in the hull are made of an acrylic or polycorbonate that is stronger than any fiberglass hull they are built into and are bonded into the hull, like wielding two pieces of steel together, the bond is stronger than the "glass" or the rest of the hull. That piece of polycarbonate or acrylic PMMA is an actual part of the hull and is as thick as the hull and risers that it bonded to. So, if the steel, aluminum, or fiberglass/carbon fiber/Kevlar hull and riser that incloses the dead space filled with air is 2 inches, then the window will be two inches thick. The PMMA acrylic or polycarbonate glass is more resistant to punctures than any steel hull that is not more that 3/4 inch thick. It is not going to break. Well, not by hitting driftwood or heavy seas or even ice that doesn't tear through the aluminum or steel hull. If a rouge wave of 75 to 100 feet comes down on that boat it isn't going to matter as the boat is going to break in two or be forced under the surface and fill the interior of the boat with water nearly instantly and unless all the doors and the engine room water tight door is completely secure, she will not hold enough air to float her back to the surface. There is no way to make a ship completely water tight as it must be able to pull air into the ship for the engines to be able to combust. That is where the boat will instantly swamp and fill with water if forced under the surface. Unless you own a boat made with FRP like Boston Whaler. Those can be cut into two pieces and though they will swamp or fill with water, they will not sink. If broken into pieces by rocks or rouge waves, the pieces will float back to the surface.

Why did they bring the docking wing railing area inwards, rather than pushing them out or just going with the line of the boat? That seems like an odd design choice that owners/captains will be cussing and complaining about. This appears to be a Med boat designed in the style of an Explorer, which is kind of odd. I guess having an Explorer is now 'trendy', it's like driving a G-Wagon in the suburbs.
@andrewmalone4272Ай бұрын
I used to love boats like this, now I want something I could rock by myself single handed. I'd possibily feel differently if I could afford staff... Yet more than likely not. I'd rather have an Elling E4.

With windows just above waterline level? And railings of square tubes with sharp edges on the corners? Maybe for the Med at good weather, but definitely not for anything above Copenhagen.

I see Evadne hasnt solved the problem, with the stairs on the upper deck. When they launched the 85, many pointet out, that those stairs are going to cause a lot of stupped toes and ankels. Its going to require some super skinny childsize crewmembers, to get in and out of that bar area. Im surprised they havent made a mechanism, to push those stairs up against the front wall. They already have had some odd years, since the 85, to come up with a solution to that particular problem.
@duncanjames914Ай бұрын

As a Pongo with ROYC offshore hand cerification [Sail] I take all reviews seriously and with a fair degree of critical credulity...meaning I know what matters when at sea and over 1200nm from a safe haven - Arksen is designed around surivability - and I have yet to see any civillian vessel that matches it's credentials in that regard...a jacuzzi won't save your life or keep you afloat if the hull is holed - c'mon, mate talk to me about why I should trust a boat with the lives of my family - seriously
