I love the new Premier Gradient also. The difference between Ombre & Gradient, Ombre is the change of colors from one color to another. Gradient is the same color beginning from one hue to the extreme opposite hue. From light to dark to put it in other words, I get what you mean with your color description but I just wanted to give you the real difference. I have to tell you that 6 years ago you taught me how to crochet while I was waiting for a back surgery. But then I blew out my hand joints from all the crocheting I did. (2 years of Christmas gifts for my whole family) Got Therapy, then Cortisone shots and now 5 years later, I am finally beginning again. OMG Crystal... Premier did it! Those of us that have been with you for awhile know what this actually means to you personally. Premier has delivered on every point... "perfect" ombre, pull tab, eco-friendly, non-piling, soft, good yardage, matching cakes and most of all... AFFORDABLE price point. I have purposefully planned to never buy the Lion Brand ombre because I know the story behind it. But THIS... Premier... they did it and I WILL buy it as soon as I possibly can (no money right now). I'm gonna go absolutely nuts until I can afford to get some of this, but I know it's out there and I KNOW it's not going away because this IS the "perfect ombre" we have all been looking for... for a LONG time now. I’m confused about the lion brand can you please enlighten me? I’m being sincere. I use mandala quite a bit. The only issue I’ve found with them is the medium four is not actually a four. I mean red hearts medium to me is bulky so I know everyone’s gauges are different. I hope I’m not supporting a company with shady business Delos the reason I ask. Thank you in advance if you spend the time to answer. I actually came to the comments to see if anyone else had asked. I’ve been crocheting since the age 7 30 plus yrs but only found Crystal about six months ago.

@@mp-rv8gu I will say this: I still use Lion Brand, and it is still one of my favorite yarn companies. My comment was specifically toward their "new" ombre cakes. Without going into great detail - last year Lion Brand was developing an ombre **with Crystal** - her name was going to be on it and she was going to get some of the proceeds from the sale (which she was going to donate to animal shelters). Crystal and Lion Brand could not come to an agreement on how much the yarn should cost customers, so Crystal backed out of it. The ombre now being released by Lion Brand is that same yarn that she helped design, but without any reference to her. Technically they were allowed to do that, so they aren't doing anything legally wrong. So it is just my personal choice that it's ONE type of Lion Brand yarn that I will not support. I still buy other Lion Brand yarn (when I can afford to buy yarn at all). I hope that clarifies my comment. Have a blessed day!

I think of gradients as multi-color; a gradient can refer to a gradual color shift, from one color to a different color, like in a rainbow gradient. So yeah, I agree with you: this is an ombre! And what a spectacular ombre! Thank you, Crystal. This is excellent news! ❤

You're enthusiasm is infectious! This truly does appear to be a perfect yarn. The color transitions are perfect. As for gradient vs ombre - the way I've always understood it, all ombres are gradients, but not all gradients are ombres. Ombre usually refers to a gradient in the same color, from light to dark. A non-ombre gradient could be a transition of various different colors. So I i would agree with you, this yarn would most appropriately be called ombre. Either way, the colors are gorgeous. I definitely love that eggplant one, and really like the springtime vibes of the punk, yellow, and green together. Super excited to see what you make using this yarn. Thanks for sharing!

If you designed a cardigan with this yarn, I'd be over the moon! That brown purple is my favorite (though it does look grey to me so thank you for saying it's not 😅). You know, a shawligan in this yarn would be beautiful (a shawl with built in sleeves that doesn't increase *too much* at the bottom so it's flattering to wear). I imagine that would be easier to do with this yarn compared with a cardigan. But if anyone could do it then you could! I'd love a wearable with this. 💜 It's so super gorgeous! I think the only small minor thing would be for it to have a little more of the darker color section amount if they make it a bit bigger or a jumbo sized.. a jumbo. Larger size for afghans would be great. I think its an ombre too. It would be great to have a sparkle line too. This yarn is going to look amazing for cardigans, beautiful blankets, mandala style, shawls. It will loook sooo pretty for mosaic blankets too. ❤😊😊😊🎉❤❤❤ I am really excited too.
