Me and friend use brush range. Kinda works lol. Brush does paint and can clean up low enemies, while I (Range) can just do massive pressure and pick off people. Our weird comp is: Grim or crb mostly grim tho, N brush, V-Jet or firefin scope, Enperry dualie

Chase once said, “Tetra is best at killing people who are doing something else.” This is why I think this comp is so powerful. The brush can rush in and distract, while the tetra punishes them.

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Inkbrush and Dark Tetra Dualies at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on the amount of Brushes or Tetras per team. The Splashdown cancel metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

After slowly getting into (watching) comp somewhat recently, most of the time I've seen only shooter game play. Seeing Inkbrush and Tetras here being actually quite effective was so insanely hype to watch! Please Splat 3, let more diversity be competitively viable!

A crazier synergy that I had the misfortune of fighting against was explosher + grim range blaster. They both fuck you over at a safe distance, and essentially hide behind one another

I really enjoyed the commentary and gameplay but it was a bit hard to follow for me, I think putting the team names in the top left corner in their respective color would have helped a lot. So, at 12:16 I think vino tinto is the green team but if the text was in green it would solidify that for me

I remember seeing a top Japanese player running MPU tetras (and respawn punisher, which they def got benefit out of lol) a year or two back with krapid and labbing it out to realize it had a damage combo, I think with a rapid indirect? I wonder what the exact rationale is for it on this comp. Very cool to see a dive comp working at such a high level!

lets be real, bamboo and rapid were underated as heck in splat 1, just because they could not one shot, and now they r super popular (because most blasters were nerfed or hated and because of main power up)

99.9-less Bamboo was always super underrated, it's pretty much a better Jet with higher skill requirements, but Splatoon 1 Rapid was pretty bad. It had variable blast damage that went from 25 to 70 which meant it could be anything from a 4-shot to a 2-shot on a whim, and its framedata, overall mobility and power/range ratio were terrible back then; and since copious amounts of Damage Up turned it into a Range with Bubbler they couldn't buff it, so they made Sloshing Machine to be what Rapid should've been. 2 completely reinvented Rapid by giving it more range relative to the rest of the weapons, making its framedata amazing so it became very evasive, and giving it a consistent damage output without any gear dependence or lol 99.9 directs, including a direct-spark combo that works every time now. It's theoretically less powerful at its peak but it's so much more consistent. Sloshmo remained about the same as in 1 and as a result diverged from Rapid despite sharing some of its tricks.

@@TheLaXandro i think people also did not like them because the bamboozler and rapid blaster, didn't really play like the other weapons in their class. Bamboo is about picking off already damaged foes instantly over great distances, and rapid is about bullying foes from a far distance, or punishing weapons with a long startup, for example the dynamo. In fact i'd actually consider bamboozler and rapid blaster to be their own weapon classes.

Hm... I've seen Inkbrush-Tent combos being very effective in Japanese tournaments before. Would Tent-Inkbrush-Tetras be the ultimate combo?

itd have to be Vtent for the beakons but its still much slower, typically tent gets paired with carbon to go in with it. It also starts to be a bit linear with that trio, duos make it easier to have the other 2 weapons cover (bamboo for missile/range or charger for extreme range and zap for paint while being self sufficient) still could work just challenging
