I'm an OMAD girl. I have gastroparesis - at first they told me to eat 6 small meals a day and my stomach absolutely said NO. It didn't have a chance to digest anything. Then, read Jason Fung and decided to let my stomach have a rest and eat less often. OMAD did the trick. I'm a teacher. How easy to get up, work all day keeping busy with the kids, dinner at 6:00 and done for the day. My digestion was way too happy. I have tried egg fasts successfully and also carnivor weeks. I also do ADF every once in awhile. A longer fast just to mix it up. Same thing every day is supportive but a longer fast once in awhile boots the system. Thank you for your video. I enjoyed hearing you!

Yes!! I do IF (Intermittant Fasting) daily 16-20 hrs....fast 48 hrs weekly, 72 hrs seasonally. Ive lost almost 100 lbs. Broke a stubborn 6 month stall by adding the weekly 48 hr fasting. At 66, weigh what I weight in my 30's! Feel great! NO meds! Sleeping GREAT! TONS of energy. Still working full time with no plans to retire!😉

@@sumerwilson8498 Thanks!! IF is is VERY doable with "baby steps"! You are probably already "fasting" overnite, 12-14 hrs or so.....(NO night-time snacking)! Try moving your 1st meal back an hr or so every week until you can go 16 hrs in between meals. Then hold there for a couple of weeks. Go to 18 hrs. & hold again. After that, stretch to 20 hrs. once per week & switch it up. Also, 1 day a week I dont fast. Work up to doing OMAD once or twice a week, altho NOT everyday. After a month or so of this, all while getting more fat adapted & lower carb (over time I went from 50 gr. per day to 30 to 20, now mostly < 20 gr.) Remember to take electrolytes! Work up to 36 hrs fasted (dinner to breakfast worked for me) then schedule longer fasts, at least monthly as u are able! Good luck!!

I did OMAD for about a month and also walked 40 minutes a day. I was shocked when I weighed myself at the end of the month and realized that I had lost 20 pounds. My story; I'm 80 5'6 (male) and had weighted 195 forever, didn't matter what I ate. In the summer 3 years ago, I bought an E-bike and was riding 20 miles a day 6 days a week. Didn't lose anything. About 4-5 months ago a friend that was in a wheelchair (Para) had lost 100# over 3 years, which really motivated me to do something. I went with the low carb, protein, OMAD fasting and also using apple cider vinegar. I have an AM pill that needs food so I eat a hardboiled egg and if I need a snack, I find something low carb. For dinner I do a salad and a protein, fish, chicken or beef. One thing that I was aware of so it didn't worry me was that for 2 weeks I didn't lose a pound (still riding the bike most days), then I lost 5 and plateaued for a few days, then 9, plateau, 14 plateau, right now plateaued at 25. Going for 30. I'm by myself so eating almost the same thing every day doesn't bother me. I've never been much into junk food. I was surprised that at 5 I'm not really hungry. I don't count calories or the carbs. I know what has a lot and avoid them. I don't do potatoes/rice/pasta/bread and while I do like them, I realized that I can leave them alone. IMO if you start down a path where perceive/feel that you are punishing yourself, you are doomed.

Love your vids. Yes fasting works as it depletes sugar/glucose stores. I don't do any Keto at all, just 14 to 16 hr intermittent fasting 2 meals a day, eating equal ratios of carbs, protein and fat (about 33% each). The ONLY other diet trick I do besides I.F. to keep weight off is increasing thermic effect (calorie-burning). So drinking herbal teas like green tea, adding certain spices and a bit more protein keeps my metabolism elevated for long. I ain't worried about gaining weight from compex carbs I eat since the protein and carbs are more thermic than fat. And hence, I ain't interested in Keto diet, just eating balanced diet. So for those who are worried their metabolism will slow down from fasting, just increase the thermic effect of the food/drink.
@vius0013 Жыл бұрын
What spices do you add?
@doug1307 Жыл бұрын
@@vius0013 I use a lot of spices and herbs and not just to boost metabolism but also for antioxidant/anti-inflammatory effects and enhancing taste. For herbal tea, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric and black pepper are best known to aid in weight loss, but I also mix them with garlic and onion powder. Black pepper also boosts turmeric absorption. It depends on the taste u want to achieve as I drink 3 kinds of teas (green, hibiscus, chamomile). I like chamomile tea, for instance, with cinnamon powder and herbs like basil, oregano, etc. And if I want something really hot, I'll add a bit of cayenne pepper, but I usually prefer cayenne on food than in tea. So yea taste usually determines what combination I use.

I only eat once a day. I never eat breakfast, lunch, and only eat dinner. Its not something I force myself. Having coffee through the day and a dinner is what fits my busy life style. It maintains my weight so that I don't gain but it doesn't help me lose weight. With everything, eventually ur body adjust and that becomes ur baseline. Bc of this if I happened to break my cycle and eat two times a day, my weight increases. The only way I lose weight now is to exercise or skip dinner entirely and not eat at all for the day. I know this sucks right.

FASTING WORKS! I definitely recommend. I’ve done the 7 day fasting and I felt amazing. I just finished the 72 hour fasting as well. I try doing it every 3 months for sure. Other than that, I do 18 hour fasting and 24 hour fasting once a week :)

LMNT is really good mixed into a can of hard seltzer - or regular seltzer for that matter.

Fast for 18-20 hours per day. I've lost 30 pounds since mid July of this year. The most important thing is to avoid processed sugar! Make sure meals are nutrionally dense. Keep empty high caloric foods to a mininum.

I gained a lot of weight specifically on OMAD. Now, intermittent fasting 20-4 with portion controlled meals and find it works better
