any stranger mission you don't complete with arthur you can complete with john. there's actually hidden dialogue for arthur if you use cheats and complete the fossils as arthur since those aren't able to be done as arthur (there are fossils in the south and arthur gets sniped by the hidden sniper).

Micah lacks everything a character should have he has absolutely no real backstory, no redemtion ark, no redeeming quality, not one moment where you think "huh maybe hes okay", he never does anything good or productive, he starts fights with everyone beeing, racist and for some reason they all just tolerate him doing it. It wouldve had literally infinitely more meaning if they actually made him likeable midway through the game.

I remember one time an O'Driscoll tried to call me out, and the antagonize button scared him off whereas defuse would only make him grow bold and attack. However, this was a single O'Driscoll. If I ever found a group of three, four, or five O'Driscolls then antagonizing just starts a fight that much quicker, while you could act demure and apologetic, let them brag about how awesome they are and that they shouldn't be messed with, and they'll start ignoring you again In most situations in this game being polite instead of demanding and kind instead of rude will be a boon, often either avoiding or preventing a conflict entirely, and even bettering your standing among others. Being antagonistic will make you rude and crude, cause people in general to be annoyed, disgusted, angered, and likely knock you around a bit if they can. However, there are other wolves that go around baring their teeth at everyone too, and when they get their way too often, they forget having to truly fight for their interests - including their lives - so much so that you can make a show of how bad you are and how much of a fight they're in for by being antagonistic, and it works, they back off realizing there are prospective targets just as tantalizing that won't fight back as hard To summarize, many people just want to go about their day, and find nice people more agreeable (shocker lol). While some will be frightened by a rough hardass, even those that are generally don't have much of value to their name, and most are willing to stand up for themselves (or their valuables), although the desire to survive and for things to normalize once more can keep people docile and pliant in intense situations However, there are also situations where the people being interacted with are of a clearly tougher nature and not always hospitable, and trying to be kind or at least non-confrontational is only going to incite these people to further shenanigans at your expense. Most people appreciate kindness, but others will target you for it, and even though the latter number is far lower, you will meet one of those people eventually, and when they try to take advantage of your positive disposition you must be ready to shut it down, even if it means you seemingly "escalate" the situation (if someone puts you in a scenario like this, they've already escalated it, and trying to make you seem like the one acting out is the last defense of those who realized they fucked up. Stand firm and refuse to back down to such people, and you'll find that many will back down themselves, possibly apologize, and even occasionally form bonds over butting heads in such a fashion. In general, be nice, but know that niceness won't always work, and be prepared to hold your ground (and even gain it) when that time inevitably comes

Wait, you can do that? I have over one thousand hours in this game so I've done a lot of experimenting and exploring to check for unique outcomes and I've seen plenty of videos showing off generally missed or hidden details so I was really confident that okay, that's it. I've seen everything in this game now. Finally saw the edge of this western universe the developers have created! But nope, here's yet another outcome I've never seen or thought to see if that works in this instance, but it does and has its own unique dialogue and interaction for. That is so cool. Like, to still come across little surprises I didn't know about like this, and we're almost in 2023 now, is crazy to me. This game is a masterpiece and I bet there's going to be discoveries made for a long time because the developers created probably the largest game out there to date in terms of how much they took into account for what players are going to do, and giving the game and world a reaction for that specific thing so that the journey is tailor made for your own unique experience. They went above and beyond for making sure players never feel like the game doesn't respond, so that we can play it our way. Because of that, to me it really is the greatest game ever made.

I loved John already from playing rdr1 and I liked Arthur but I was admittedly more invested in Dutch and Johns stories than Arthur’s so I only played the main missions and occasionally “experimented” which got me low honor and then Arthur’s diagnosis followed by the honor choices made me like Arthur more, so tbh I like Arthur towards the end when he’s humbled and sickly but also more wise and empathetic. And I was disappointed when he died and I had to play as John even tho John was still my favorite

Apparently they'll attack instead of running away. Flaco himself is known for carrying two revolvers, and will pull out the other one and start shooting at you. You can't shoot that one out of his hand. As far as I know, none of the gunslingers in this quest line can be spared. If you disarm them, they'll either continue to attack you or kill themselves.
