These chips look amazing. Here in the U.S. chips/snacks of all kinds have had tremendous price increases so in addition to being healthy they are also less expensive than the store-bought chips.
@HowToCookSmarter3 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! That's right these are the double win for sure... It's pretty much the same with prices here in Croatia, and all these store-bought chips made of apples, lentils, with less oil and salt, these were always too expensive to be an option for regular consumers.

I've made Savory Chickpea Crackers w/ smoked paprika for years. The batter is thick and rolled; very thin, very crispy. Will try this variation for a softer tortilla that can be folded for tacos.
@HowToCookSmarter3 ай бұрын
That's a great idea! Do you use chickpea flour only for your crackers?
@susanhenley82403 ай бұрын
@@HowToCookSmarter Yes, it uses Chickpea flour only. You can google "Foux-ritos" (Foux Doritos) and get recipes. Be sure to roll between parchment paper, use a pizza roller to shape how you want.

Love chick pea and/or lentil flat breads and chips! Can be used for small pizza, too 😊 Glad that you're sharing this with your community. Other people use egg, psyllum husk or xanthan gum as the binder when they're avoiding wheat flour. I use egg white but am planning to try rice. After all, legumes & rice (or any grain) together make a complete protein.

You're always on it Sasha! I liked the texture and color of the Chickpea tortillas, definitely much tastier and more nutritious than corn chips but on store-bought chips, there are many tortillerías here in my country, in each city, town and state, this makes it difficult to find one that makes great tasting corn tortillas but once you find one, keep to it. As for the wonderful superfood that chickpeas are, love hummus, a stir-fry with sliced carrots and onions, using chickpea flour to make milanesas(schnitzels)and I want to try making yoghurt from chickpeas as well as making these yummy chips that you've made here. 🤤Thank you for sharing Sasha, 👍and greetings 👋from Mexico.🤠

I have found the same thing with buckwheat flour as you did with ground chickpea---these respective flavors are too strong and can easily overpower other types of flours. Or, whose distinctive taste simply doesn't mesh well with certain other flours at all. Like humans---not everybody will get along, no matter hard we try to make it work. LOL
@HowToCookSmarter3 ай бұрын
That's right, buckwheat flour comes with strong flavor and it's quite dense, I used to add some into the bread mixture, and too much of it just ended up with not so great results.
