We have all enjoyed the amazing custom cars and inventions that have made their way into the Grand Tour over the years. But what you may not know is that most of the amazing Grand Tour and Top Gear contraptions were/are made in the workshop directly next to The Smallest Cog, Richard Hammond's classic car workshop. Mike Fernie heads next door to explore this treasure trove of engineering.
Thank you to NordVPN for sponsoring this video!

Man hearing this guy talk reminds me of my old Engineering Professor in high school. He was such a smart guy and managed to become a top chief engineer at GM but said he couldn’t stand how no one had a sense of humor and how corporate everything was. So he came back home and created the engineering academy at my school to help teach kids the passion of engineering. Man was that class fun

Although this is very cool, I did prefer how on old top gear they would be more involved in the creations and although they obviously didn't do everything it was in the realms of possibility that they could have done it, idk I feel like it grounded the show more, gave the presenters more room to be passionate about their creation and the others too be more harsh on their opinions of the other presenters creations, making it funnier. Also the fact that most new modifications don't fall apart, so they normally just blow them up or something equally as unrealistic, which isn't as funny as the random stuff that would naturally or at least feel more realistic to happen with their bodge jobs.
