The issue is less 'atheism', which is a modern side show, and more the pervasive narcissistic spiritualism that dominates society. This is the more than creeping paganism that is driving us today. Paul tells us that when people stop worshiping the creator, they worship the creation; and while this goes for atheism as well as paganism in general, the greater area for outreach is paganism, because at least pagans admit that material fails as a cosmogonic avenue (not withstanding that atheism is generally a materialist monism). Paganism and all versions of monism look for the resolution of pain and suffering in the same system that produces it: whether mankind, nature, or some vague pantheistic spiritualism (that is, 'god' is everything and everything is 'god'). Genesis 1 sets our lives in a concrete material world from the hand of the Creator who has made us like him: that is cogitative persons, self-aware, relational, and with a non-material value hierarchy. He has done this in the concrete reality of the flow of history, as shown by the 'days' of creation (real concrete, delimited days), and in his separateness from the things he has created. This means that the resolution of our despair comes from outside the locus of despair that we are otherwise entrapped within. In short: a failed system cannot be the source of correction to the failure as the failure is inescapable from within the system. It needs an external intervention to provide the correction. The externality of God is demonstrated in the creation account: he is prior to the system, his involvement and love is shown in his presence and action in the creation and in making us in his image, despite courting the risk of rejection. His intervention is in the incarnation and the correction is heralded in the resurrection.

Call it God's mercy to the wicked. For we are all wicked and corrupt. We ALL fall short of the glory of God. A better way to phrase this question would be, why do bad things or good things, happen to people. You cannot classify people into "good or bad" there are none good, except for God.

Lot's of good thoughts here, but too much 'moralism'. Christianity is far more than a dull moralism, which should be left to Mormons, JWs, and Islam; Christ calls us to himself, not to a bunch of rules. Indeed, the first move is to turn against the 'anti-moralism' of our age and its futility and to the new life in him. If atheists see Christian faith as merely a set of rules, why would they be compelled? They already have a set of rules they are happy with. No. Their rules are not good, they won't change anything: history demonstrates this. Anthony Flew moved towards this view; Nagel is dogged by it. Ps 30:8 hints at it: if we are only 'dust', that's all we have to contribute to anything: dust.

And if it's so tiring and boring, why are you here, watching it? "Same tired arguments" means you have heard it before, so why would you come to hear it again if you already know the argument and still don't believe? I might go so far as to say, you don't want to admit it, but you are looking to see if there is absolute proof of God. But I'd also like to say, you won't see anything in these videos that would make you believe, not because there's no evidence, nor because there's no truth in these videos, no! You won't believe, because the problem isn't with your brain. The problem is with your heart. You aren't stupid. God didn't create us to be unintelligent creatures. If he wanted us to be dumb, he simply could not have given us a brain, logic and reasoning. Your issue is far greater than intellect. Your problem is your heart. You don't want to believe in God, so you will keep yourself blind to the truth, and because you have been taught if not all, then some amount of your life that belief in God is backwards and makes someone an idiot, or mentally ill. If you did a little inner soul searching and were completely honest, all personal fears and feelings aside, your brain, your logic, would tell you, there is a God. And he created you, specifically, YOU! Because he loves you. Even though you choose to keep turning away, he still loves you and he's like a father begging for his child to love him in return. Not because he needs you to love him, but he wants you to love him, because he loves you. Have you ever loved someone and be rejected by them? It hurts, no?

But when atheists say that everything came from nothing, that's total logic, right?
