I'm late to watching this. Since I am traveling to Japan in late May, I may possibly consider making Ueno as my base since it has a little of everything. And because it is my first time solo travel and in the country, hopefully this is a great spot for me to make my base.@@NinjaMonkeyguy

We stayed in Shinjuku on our last trip but we spent most of our time in Ueno, so this time we will be staying at Ueno. The park alone with all the museums could take several days to get through at a quiet pace. Very nice video, thanks!

Ueno Park was the first park I went to in 2009. It's a big area with a huge pond and cute paddle swan boats that attract cute ducks to swim near. Beautiful in the Sakura season. Temple. Alleys in Ueno that have many clothing & discount stores.

Tokyo is absolutely massive, but I find that once you're on the ground it feels more like a collection of small cities than a single giant one. Everything around the major stations is walkable and you can easily just pick a stop on the Yamanote line and spend the day exploring its surrounding and have a full experience.

Ueno will always have a special place in my heart. As a regular Tokyo traveler. As it was the second place I stayed at on my second trip there. The Eastern side of Tokyo is a lot cheaper than Shinjuku etc. As it has a reputation as being not very cool. But Ueno has a lot of offer. Staying at Koto city next week.

Ueno is beautiful. I had the pleasure of being in Ueno park for Hanami this year. It was wonderful! The zoo is incredible for the value as well. I think I will stay in Ueno next time I go to Tokyo. I'd recommend Tamachi for another good spot that's less quiet, however Ueno definitely has more things to see and do than Tamachi.

I'd love to stay in Ueno. My absolute favorite neighborhood in Tokyo. But, there are so many cheaper places in the city, I'll probably never stay there.

You left out the 10000 steps up down up down to get out of the station and across the roads . A real pain if you have luggage
@NinjaMonkeyguy
@NinjaMonkeyguy 4 ай бұрын
Maybe you got lost? many different options either crossing the road or walking via under passes .. additionally pretty much every station will have quite a few steps to get in and out especially in major hubs. Infact Ueno is one of the most accessible of stations with elevators And escalators to ground level
