An interesting side by side for the Jo Koy thing would be to compare with Conan O'Brien's monologue. Love when he bombs and he says "well they're not all winners" and goes into a little dance, lol. Or Craig Ferguson "made myself laugh!" Or Marty Short, insulting the audience or host more just to dig it deeper. So many other ways to make it funny that don't include throwing the writers under the bus!

I watched half of Joe Koy's monologue and I didn't laugh once. I didn't even smile. It was not funny. And even the "offenses" weren't funny. If you are going to offend someone/something while doing stand up comedy, at least make it worth the risk.
