This vlog makes me miss Portugal so much! I, too, went to see the lighthouse and fort. Totally made me laugh when you went into the water, and how brave was Carol to dive her head in! Ha

The water in Sagres is really cold, remember it’s the North Atlantic, but the water temperature gets warmer from Albufeira going east to the Spanish border.

Good to know! Didn't head to any beaches that way on this trip, hopefully on my next trip!

OMG that is a beautiful aerial view. According to my DNA my ancestry were of Portuguese origin along with Spain. Thank you for a beautiful blog.. the seagulls were protecting its baby the smaller one.

One thing I loved about the Algarve...it was always cool at night with the breeze from the Atlantic and you could get to sleep no bother....btw you are both very brave for swimming in the Atlantic. Adios amigos! ❤

i live in canada but my parents live in Portugal . they come back and forth. but this year its been weird weather in Algarve. Colder than usual. I was there 2 years ago and it got over 40 degrees CELSIUS. My dad is working there right now and says its been cooler.

Your description of the climate there is also very similar to the Great Ocean Road coastline. You've definitely put south Portugal on my long to do list!

To anyone planning a trip here during the high season, I’d recommend skipping Lagos. Completely overrun by trashy tourists. I’d visit one of the smaller towns to the West of Lagos - towards Sagres.

haha I think those seaguls are a couple with their baby
@covinhas874 жыл бұрын
That was a baby seagull and the parents. The baby is not a great flyer yet, so they didn't fly away. :) An yeah, those beaches are all connected if you go on the low tide.
@gingerz1695 жыл бұрын
18:27 I think you got too close to their nest. Their nest or egg must be in one of those small bush plants they are standing next too. They thought you were gonna hurt their baby. That's why they are spazzing.

Sorry to tell you but actually Algarve's sea temperature is the warmest of Portugal but this year it was cold. Tipically it's around 20-25ºC but you propably got like 19 or 18ºC. So if you think that's cold... you should try the sea in northern Portugal... like 15/16ºC ;)
@JumpingPlaces5 жыл бұрын
Don’t be sorry, yeah all Portugal is cold ocean
@HelderPereira-MrHP5 жыл бұрын
@@JumpingPlaces not really... For us Portuguese the Algarve water are warm. It always depends to what you're comparing to. Comparing to waters of Florida or Central America... Yah it's cold. But 22-25ºC is pretty decent. Oceans aren't pool's.

Sorry to tell you guys that you forgot to mention the most important thing about Sagres. It was from Sagres that the Portuguese Discoveries got started in the XV century: Henry the navigator founded a school for maritime science and navigation, the first one in medieval Europe. It enabled the future portuguese maritime explorers to discover the entire globe!... So sorry you skiped that:-(
