In my 2023 Kia EV6 GT review I'll show you the fastest Kia ever made! In fact, the Kia EV6 GT is faster than a Ferrari Roma. Power comes from two electric motors making 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque. It'll do 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds - however, it only gets 205 miles of range. If you're looking for more range you also have the option of going for the Kia EV6 GT Line and other trims. But this is about performance so let's take a closer look at the 2023 Kia EV6 GT!

I did, retiring a Porsche 997 in the process to weekend duties only. It's awesome, I even took it on a track day (I've posted a video on KZbin) and it was hilarious, really good fun.

I own one and i’m getting far more range than the EPA rating. When I charge to 80%, my range is 200 miles. That equals 250 miles on a full charge and it is improving the longer I own it. I drive mostly in Normal mode (not Eco), which is plenty fast, with occasional bursts in GT mode. If you don’t drive like a hooligan, it’s easy to beat the EPA range. By the way, the seats are not ventilated.

With a 200 mile range, this thing is DOA in the US market.

Reviewing an electric gt 600hp, while making the range a big issue. Like reviewing the mustang gt I owned, talking about how much gasoline you burn when you hit that pedal. Of course they consume, they are performance cars😈😤

This car doesn't make any sense compared to a Tesla Model Y Performance. They put down similar acceleration numbers but the Model Y has about 100 miles more range and is far cheaper even before the tax credit. I'll be surprised if they sell more than a few hundred of these in a year.

Maybe it doesn’t make sense in a logical way… but to people who wants something different than the omnipresent TMYP (and don’t care that much about range) the EV6 GT is a feisty competitor. It’s interior is quite different, and in my opinion, the driving dynamics are way above the TMYP. 😊

@@andersteilmann8005 Yeah, I agree but you're talking about a niche buyer. Which is what will account for the few units they'll sell. They should have stuck a bigger battery in this car but I'm sure they already thought of that and found it was prohibitively expensive.

I have driven a lot in the Y (lovely car) and own a EV6 GT… and there is a reason to that. 😊 In my mind the GT has an interior much more to my taste, way better seats and a driving dynamic and feel that the model Y can’t match. Range is really not relevant to me, because I don’t drive that much and only charge it (at home) once or twice a week. I seldom do longer trips, and if I do, we already (I live in Denmark) have fast chargers in great numbers scattered around along all highways I drive. I would not want it to have a bigger battery (with the present technology), because besides it being more expensive, it would add more weight (I guess an approximately 20% increase would result in a little less than 100kilos of extra weight). To me it’s not necessarily a good trade off regarding handling and the extra money… and maybe also a reason why KIA hasn’t fitted a larger battery in the GT. Besides that, the Y (and its sibling, Model 3) is hugely omnipresent… and even though I think it’s a very nice car, I like to drive in something more special and (up till now) rare. 😊

They're super comfy bucket seats, why would you want to carry around heavy electric motors. EVs are heavy enough you need to save unnecessary weight.
