An activist and thought leader, Glennon is the founder and president of Together Rising, an all-women led nonprofit organization that has revolutionized grassroots philanthropy - raising over $25 million for women, families, and children in crisis. Glennon Doyle is the author of #1 New York Times bestsellers Untamed (a Reese’s Book Club selection) and Love Warrior (an Oprah’s Book Club selection), as well as the New York Times bestseller Carry On, Warrior. Glennon lives in Florida with her wife and three children.
Her newest memoir, Untamed, came out on March 10, 2020, and explores the joy and peace we discover when we stop striving to meet others’ expectations and start trusting the voice deep within us. People everywhere are raving about how this book has changed their lives and helped them stand for who they are and not what the world wants them to be.
Glennon has been an outstanding friend to me and has helped me walked through some difficult places. She encouraged me to share my story about being sexually assaulted as a kid, and I am so grateful for her courageous spirit.
I know you all are going to enjoy this one. Join me on Episode 952 to learn how you can live an untamed and apologetic life with the incredible Glennon Doyle.

This reminds me of my mother. Its so hard for her to change now that her children are grown up. But she had been sad even before i had left the house. I felt all her sadness and bitterness which was a lot for me as a little girl. I think she never felt like she came first..she didnt really have friends.. everything was about family and work... im happy she opens up about her feelings now. I guess thats a good step foreward:)

Love both of you. Glennon has a way of dropping truths in such an easily palatable way. My takeaway is “con fid” (confidence), with fidelity to self, to never abandon self, NO MATTER WHAT, even if it disappoints people.

Thank you for your great work, friendly interviews, and thoughtfully selected topics. The biggest take away for me is that I now see how my concept and book "The Formula For Finding for True Love" is a key tool for humanity. I feel even more motivated now to continue working on the online course to make this formula accessible to as many people as possible! ❤️ Let's change the world into a better place, one person at the time. (Starting with myself, everyday.)

What a fantastic interview! One of my favorite parts near the beginning was when she said that when we go though life we are expected to love or want what is a fit inside this kind of box kind of love .. perfect this .. must have that .. and with that If it’s not what is truest to you then you will not be fully fulfilled. Love the one you love no matter what even if it’s not the typical traditional love that people expect love should be . I love that ! Exactly how I feel !

Grreat appreciation to Glennon for removing that laced veil on the faces of us females which gives us access & ownership to self, but the freedom to be who we are meant to be ...without permission - gives us cognition for the truest opportunity in (finally) getting to experience that epic passion we are all meant for!

I love everything about this interview! Besides sharing the same birthday with her, we share a very similar outlook on life and raising a family. Children learn from what you do, and how you live, not what they think is the right thing to do. I too divorced because, I didn't want my children to think that what we lived was the ideal marriage. I wanted them to know that we all deserve to live the best life we can imagine, It wasn't easy, but I don't regret a thing! I lost who I was in that marriage, To the outside I had the perfect life, the smart handsome husband, beautiful healthy and smart children, I lost myself. I refused to settle for anything less than what I want. Fall in love with you FIRST before looking for someone else. It is you that you are looking for. When you start loving you, everything will fall into place.Lewis, your questions are usually very telling on what you struggle with at the moment. You DESERVE 100% of the type of person you are looking for.

Glennon, thank you for sharing these wonderful books and discussions with others. I loved the note on “there isn’t one way liberation.” I just wanted you to know that your journey to living fully has given me to opportunity to examine my own life and helped me free myself from my taming. Life feels a whole lot lighter and more beautiful. Thank you so much And Lewis, I always appreciate your vulnerability and I find the questions you ask very interesting and different to other interviews, especially when chatting about the book and discussion with her dad that is still to come. Thank you both

Very good interview. That being said, let's not forget that regardless of the social conditioning, mothers gather a LOT of positive feedback from the outside world. And being the perfect mom (putting the child first, etc.) participates in creating a persona that gives validation to the self and can feed into narcissistic traits to fulfill a lack of inner personality. So the tendency may not only be for show, but it's also not only about the social conditioning stereotype of the "sacrificial mother". As conscious women, it's also important to not forget to examine oneself on a deeper level and not use social conditioning as the main reason for our behaviors.

Great interview and awesome truth bombs left and right. I have yet to read her book but I just bought it. Can’t wait to start. When I began listening for a minute I was in shock because she described the book I am writing right now. At first my ego thought, “hey she took my idea” but then my bigger self thought this just shows what a universal and important message this is and I’m sure based on my different experiences and ideas on how to return to ones authentic self there is enough room in the world for two books. Be blessed everyone and remember that you, the real you, underneath the labels and standards imposed on you by others is perfect. We were all put on earth to let our real selves shine and each unique soul adds a unique drop of color to the painting that is life. The more shades and colors of paint the more diverse and beautiful the picture. Stay true and be blessed 😊❤️😊

As a woman I had a very hard time with this interview. The entire point of forgiveness is to add peace to our lives. If you are still cycling through between peace and emotionally stabbing someone in your thoughts you have not reached peace within.
@kayleyschiller
@kayleyschiller 4 жыл бұрын
I think that her point is that even if you've forgiven someone, you can acknowledge that what they did really hurt you and sometimes your body will bring up those emotions again without your brain's permission. At that point you have to re-forgive. Not because you haven't truely forgiven them, but because your experiences and emotions were and are valid and it's not always easy to re-train yourself
@MijoShrek
@MijoShrek 4 жыл бұрын
And to add on what Kay replied here, you aknowledge all aspects of your emotions of be human. You forgive but still cannot deny those inner deep feelings within is to not lie to yourself like people will try and do and not really be at peace but not hiding deeper feeling and make them conscious is how you can come at peace. And you cannot critique what peace means or looks like for someone else,I subjective just is life. Someone else's dreams could be my nightmares.

I agree with most of the things that Glennon said but the part of being one thing and that's what your suppose to be if you want to aspire for true greatness at something I don't see how else that can be the case but most don't have to be that which is ok and true as well bc it's what you choose but if your talented or skilled at something most of your focus is probably most well spent on improving those areas and double downing on them. If you don't really love it find out how to love it bc it's your gift so how to embrace and accept it I would add as well.

Lewis you are a great interviewer. It is hard to believe Glennon is so popular. I had to stop the video because there were so many 'I and Me' statements. Her blanket statements do no reflect millions of women around the world who have never fit her description. At least now, i have an idea of who Glennon is and what she believes. I respect her opinions but reject her message.

I love to dance but dont want to make my boyfriend jealous. I found many of the things discussed insightful and helpful. I have to say, the comment at 17:06 was an eye roller, though. Please tell me your analysis isn't that simplistic. ALL the problems in the world? This is where the great cause of feminism goes too far, making men the root of all evil.
