Let's start by saying that legibility wasn't a priority and that in the community it's pretty much established that more than $1000 is not "affordable", BUT in the right context it's an incredible price for the research & development that was put into making this watch. I like this a lot, really a nice idea and conversation starter.

Hundred percent agree with this. I wouldn't dream of spending a grand on a watch. I am, however, really impressed that someone can offer a unuique and thought provoking design like this to the market for that price. Do get De Bethune vibes from it though, which is a complement to the designers. Can I assume that watches like this are Swiss built but designed by someone else?

I'm biased because I have the MAD1 as well as the Tellurium. Wouldn't touch Atowak, too much copying going on there in my opinion. Tellurium is slimmer and more special than MAD1, but the MAD1 has the MB&F pedigree, so hard to choose to be honest. xD

On their website, I see only the natural titanium case with aventurine dial, which is fine for me. I might go with the blue titanium case if actually available.

I won't refute that this is an incredible watch, despite the legibility of telling accurate time (clearly not a priority), with a the level of development that is really quite remarkable at that price point. However, I do find it a bit of a preposterous claim to then say this is an "affordable" watch. That's rather like saying a $119,000 Tesla Model X Plaid is affordable, when compared to a Rolls Royce Spectre. For many of us in the watch collecting world, most watches north of $1000 are not generally considered to be especially affordable or obtainable. While it is fascinating to see the engineering quality that has gone into such a watch as this, please stop calling it affordable, thanks.

Well, depends on perspective. If you're a subscriber of my channel and see the watches I usually feature, this is an affordable brand. Especially if you're a fan of indies like MB&F, URWERK, De Bethune and others alike where a strap with a buckle sometimes costs 3k.

My mistake, I stumbled across your channel and was intrigued by the combination of the watch design and the 'Affordable' aspect. Being new to the channel I hadn't realised it was for high end watches only, and that 'Affordable' on your channel only meant in relation to watches well into the five figure bracket (which is definitely not my idea of affordable). This is a prototype watch, very scratched overall there's other shots that show it. And it will be not hand finished, hence the affordable price point.

My god, you really don't know what you're talking about for a watch enthusiast...I'm aware that astronomical watches are a niche inside of a niche, but if you're doing video about it, get your research done properly. The Ulysse Nardin went recently out in an auction in paris for like 50k. And it's not only in Pt, but first model were actually made out of Gold. The Pt, is part of a limited series called the trilogy. Then if you want to compare the tellurium with an astronomical watch, you should know about the Graham Orrery. The idea and the representation is almost exactly identical.

@@SwissWatchGang The UN doesn't cost 175k. It costs 50k and that's a major difference. And no you don't need to go deep the history of UN, but at least explain why it reminds of the Kepler. Because, to me, it feels closer to the copernicus with all the planets rotating (an actual planetarium). The main point of the spaceone tellurium is to have the planet in 3D and see them rotating around the sun. Only a few watches display this, and the closest one is the Graham Orrery. Another could be the CVDK planetarium (or the Van cleef, which is derived from it), or the hugely well known Astronomica. Look, I don't want to be rude, but your content always seems to be rushed as hell. In a context of mechanical watch where perfectionism is a de facto standard, spending more time to research and introduce something to your audience is essential (at least to me). This might not match your format, but then I'm the wrong target. I also don't know all the watch ever made. I just do research. It takes time, but I do it. If I can do it, so can you. Take this comment as some food for thoughts. Cheers
