I just don’t understand the point of lying and trying to infiltrate artists/commissioner spaces and knowingly mislead people. I follow her profile for some time and watch quietly, here's my speculation: she is heavely referencing and overpainting AI but doesn't lack skill. Feels like she isn't satisfied with her current skills and helps herself with AI :/ She posted a new timelapse video and... this drawing doesn't contain any mistakes she made in the past? Things I noticed in her previous drawings (among many others) are: merging elements, repetative elements that change between each other in this wonky AI way, AI melting, difference in skills, basically everything that was pointed out in the video AND more. Most of these problems magically disappear in the video, where she needs to redraw the whole piece herself. But then, it feels like she copies stuff from genAI images without thinking twice - the difference in skills between elements is so weird. I believe AI stuggled with creating these and she had to actually render it without a help of the image. I think I wouldn't think twice about it and actually believed her after this new timelapse, but this one drawing with girl in latex is so SO clearly AI, I won't believe she didn't use help of AI in other pieces. The fishnet on her chest is sich a big giveaway- why is each square colored differently like a mosaic LOL That's what old/weak AI models would do.

I think the color differences shouldn't be used as evidence on its own of ai use cause hue shifts are very normal if you're digitally painting and this is on purpose to make things look more lifelike. I was literally taught to add greens and blues etc in places that are not exactly expected because thats how humans actually see real life hue shifts arent ai its just very VERY common in like corporate professional work (triple a game concept art etc.). Also if you use mixing brushes and color picking its super common to have similar but not the same colors. That being said the anatomy and inconsistent details on the hands and hair seem super ai to me though

Actually, quick clarification on Clip Studio's Speedpaint functionality! You can indeed start midway through a drawing, I had to do so when I was saving my files as PSD files sometimes. When you save a file as a PSD in Clip Studio and close the file you'll lose the speedpaint that you had going. So when I remembered, I would start the speedpaint and either never close the program, or export what I had and then start the speedpaint up again the next time I opened the file. However, you do have to manually start recording each and every time you open that file up again, and so if you forget, like I often did.. many incomplete speedpaints, lol. Not defending this particular artist, as it really looks like AI, just wanted to explain the speedpaint function in Clip Studio a little more.

It's like when you pause a recording on OBS, continue gaming, and then unpause it in a different place. So the artist could've turned it on in the beginning, then off to trace, then back on. 5:33 - I just wanted to comment on the thing about polygraph tests, since this is a very common misconception - When done correctly (and I say this because a lot of the "polygraph tests" you see online, like done on celebs and stuff, are not done correctly and not following the correct standard of procedure for the test to not give false positives, so they're inaccurate and invalid) Polygraph tests are very accurate. They work in a very specific way, and need to be done this way in order to be valid and accurate. How they work is like this: the person being questioned is hooked up to several different sensors. Typically, in a valid test, this will include a pad that you sit on which tracks clenching movements, sensors hooked up to your fingers to track sweating and heart rate, sensors attached to your chest to track breathing, and sensors attached to your arm to track blood pressure. These are the usual ones they use. Then, a qualified polygraph examiner is supposed to tell the person they are testing every single question they plan to ask. Not necessarily in the order they will ask them, but they have to tell them. Once they start the polygraph machine, each of these sensors has their own individual line on the machine. This is to prevent it from being rigged (for example, if someone tries to induce a false positive by clenching, the only line that will go up is the pad they're sitting on and the examiner will be able to see that they're doing that.) These lines also create a "standard", in the sense that if someone is nervous, their heart rate will be higher. Some medications also cause higher blood pressure, etc. This is different for each person, and just having a high heart rate due to nerves will not cause a qualified examiner to consider this a false positive. The line will just sit higher on the graph from the beginning than for someone who isn't nervous, right. What then happens is the test will begin. The polygraph examiner asks the questions they said they would ask. Not necessarily in the order they said them before, but still only those questions. They aren't allowed to ask questions they didn't state at the beginning. These questions are also ONLY allowed to be yes or no questions. If you see a video where they ask open questions, the test is immediately invalid. Then they check the graph for spikes from ALL sensors when the person responds yes or no to a question. Every single line would need to spike to indicate the person is lying - that's how the body works. Your breathing, sweating, heartrate, blood pressure, and bootay clenching all go up when you're lying, it's basic biology. The examiner will also ask the same questions multiple times in different orders to make sure they get a spike consistently on the answer of that specific question. They mark their graph every time they get a spike, and they keep record of which questions got the spike. Very often these sessions are recorded, too, if it's in like a police/law setting etc. So it's never a case of "oh I'm nervous, I'm gonna look guilty" lol. That's not how it works, and if anybody ever claims that their test is valid but they don't follow this exact procedure, know that it is not and it won't hold up in court. I know all of this because my dad is a qualified polygraph examiner and he hooked me and my sister up to the test once to show us exactly how it works and why certain tests you see online are invalid and inaccurate. If done properly, they are extremely accurate. Just like stay safe and make sure the test is done correctly, if you ever need to go for one for work or anything like that.

Clothing details make no sense either and fishnet is definetelly AI, no human can mess up clothing that badly. There's so much wrong and in odd places in it that it hurts my profession as it would be impossible to even design, yet to sew clothing that wonky. They might try to paint over AI bu they don't know what parts to fix to begin with with or just use Ai directly without even bothering to fix it or referencing from it. There also were some inconsistancy on anatomy as other leg being way thicker than other on that swimsuit one. And that nurse one, no collar turns outside in. It might have been a curtain to that her hand blends into. In some illustrator's styles some stuff that has very little value to viever they are left unfinised as nobody is looking them that long to notice. Thing iwith them is that they are still detailed enough to figure out what they are supposed to be. When Ai does it, it's just andom mess.

My theory is that they started out acually drawing and then werent seeing the progress they wanted so they started using/painting over AI

The problem with speed-paint videos is that there are AI models now that generate a video with the picture. The video is generally incomplete or skipping big changes though. You really can't trust anything anymore as these generators become better and better. Sometimes you really need to go into the pixels to tell, because then it becomes blatantly obvious that no brush was used for this... and then you start finding those people who draw over AI art to fix its mistakes and make it look more legit.

As someone who enjoys exploring generative AI for fun, I can confirm that this artist likely uses AI. The quickest way to identify AI-generated art is by examining key details such as eyebrows, eyes, shadows, and hands. For less experienced AI users, hands often appear messy or unnatural. Additionally, inconsistencies in small details, like hair mentioned, can be a giveaway. A skilled artist who is capable of rendering at this level would typically include intricate details, particularly in the eyes and eyebrows. However, many of this artist's works exhibit odd or low-quality features. At 6:20, it seems the tool they used might be Paints-Undo. Paints-Undo is an AI tool that tries to copy how people draw digitally. Basically you give it an image and it can do things like sketching, adding colors, and shading to make digital art look more naturally made.

Agreed.. the intentional choice of adding the light bouncing from the ambient surroundings which technically most artist would not apply on a piece that has a white or solid color background because there's no environment to match it with furthermore the color used on the feet is strange but hey just my opinion in the end.

i do find it wierd, how they did fanart so well and like with the details like the model. like the leg thingy ruffle and everything. ( talking about the pekora fanart at 14:51 btw ) but they also could have put in an image?. Like i gotta admit, ive used ai when i didnt know it was bad yet because my drawings low key sucked and i also did this, but it never could get details right... wierd...

At 18:25 you can also notice how the background is kinda weird and bendy looking, almost as if it is made by ai. I feel as if the artists is drawing a base or a bit and then using ai for the rest (I didn’t watch the full vid so correct me if I’m wrong :D)

I actually like to colour while sketching, not always but i often do it to test coulours and it feels calming and nice if i do feel stressed. I dont actually think its that uncommon to have a back and forth workflow, as mine is not always very linear xD Not saying this isnt AI because I honestly cant tell. I personally have made alot of these mistakes myself, but just to add to that we all have wastly diffrent ways to come to a final product which doesnt necessarily mean its AI

I feel like I’d be called out to use ai too, even on my traditional drawings, cuz I also do the hair thing where it starts thin and gets thicker and then just disappears in the rest of the hair, cuz I don’t really do how to make it look good otherwise and I kinda learned it like this, based on other artists I referenced it. Moreover I’m REALLY inconsistent (my adhs might be the reason) so some things look more detailed and then rlly weird cuz i forgot what I wanted to do haha. And my hands oh god… but nevertheless I’m rlly good at rendering!!! Even tho I never know what I’m doing, most of all when it comes to shadow or light, but my rendering is good tho hahaha. So idk I think in the end it’s rlly hard to tell if someone is using ai or rlly good at rendering and bad at the rest…
@Mia-nk1kgАй бұрын
If you are good at rendering but bad at realising the light source, one would be able to tell you are a beginner. Line art also matters.
