I'm excited just to have something different to play, but this one really feels like a miss. The strats are really juiced up, but most of the enhancements are meh and the restrictions on who can lead who, what can fit in a transport, the ability to take certain units only in 10s or needing sagitaurs to split warriors as a pts tax all ends up making it very difficult to actually make this work well, I think. there are just so many little details (like the HG Champ not being able to get DS unless he is leading) that end up stopping any of these little synergies from happening.

Its a good detachment, just not for Votann right now. Votann is 100000% dependant on the Oathband detachment rule. Thats what GW used to fix the entire army. There was no way for any new detachment to compete with that. If we would look at the original Oathband vs this one, this is is better. But the overbuffed Oathband cannot be beaten. This detachment will be awesome once they fix our damn army rule and datasheets
