If u extend it behind your body it will engage long head instead of the lateral head which is engaged in pushdown

Hold ka apko technical and biological point Bata deta hoon koi bhi exercises ka 3 phase hota hai. Ek complete rep me. Eccentric, amortisation and concentric. Eccentric contraction jisme muscle chhota hota hai and then amortisation jisme 1-2 second hold karte hain and then fir eccentric, jisme muscles ka size bada hota hai. Isko complete ek repetition tempo bolte hain.

Dumbbell kickback better hai kyunki usmein weight aap “uthate “ho aur cable kickback mein aap weight us muscle pe nhi lasakte kyunki aap cable pull karrahe ho. Isliye old school method is best. Kisi bhi exercise ko change mat karo ya modified mat karo ya end mat karo. It’s better to add the new exercise. Old school continue rakho.

cable push down triceps is vastly superior to any dumbbell or barbell. more so, if you do one arm at a time with light weight.
