Love your videos that are more focused on the striking aspects of self defence. I only train kick-boxing, can’t do bjj or wrestling due to lower back issues so I appreciate these videos!

Great common sense vid. I like the oblique and sidekick from close range (including the clinch) where you're stomping downward as much as you're kicking forward against the knee joint. It does damage, it breaks their posture, it feeds it tends to feed into takedowns and standing chokes as they try to avoid or recover.

Love this video! Such quality advice. I don’t go to a Muay Thai gym but I’ve been refining my side kick, hook kick, front kick and roundhouse. Pretty solid arsenal I’d say. I’ve got pretty long legs too, so I prefer kicking over boxing! This video gave me extra confidence when it comes to defending myself in the street. Which I very much doubt would happen anyway lol

There is so many peoples they told me the ninja kicks , like spin kick , 360 kick , 540 , kick etc will never work in a street fights , and one day The only choice I had was to fight and then I destroyed one guy by one 540 kick . So yeah I confirm that your tip are very important for all kicks , we must master it , we must get also good flexibility and in the real fight , you must be ingenious also

Which do you recommend someone to train first striking or grappling? More specifically Gracie jiu jitsu or Muay Thai for self defense purposes primarily?
@staysafemartialarts10 ай бұрын
Grappling first. Most fights involve some form of grappling
@FightTeamLLC10 ай бұрын
My humble opinion, your Muay Thai should come first. They will be in Kicking range before they are in Punching range. They will be in Punching range before they are in Knee range. They will be in Knee range before they are in Elbow range. And they will be in Elbow range before they are in Grappling range. An adversary on top of us is what we are trying to prevent. Of course it's GREAT to have a ground game, absolutely, but I am going to make them GET to me. Again, just my humble opinion. 🙏🏽

I stick to mcmap from the USMC. We trained to immobilize and kill enemy combatants. Kicking is risky. Being on your back the worst. If I ever throw a kick, it would only be one, front kick to sternum. I'd have to feel confident.

What about a front kick to the jaw ala anderson silva vs vitor?
@flexaflexa217711 ай бұрын
Why is a front kick to the head risky? Can it be caught?
@Cadein.8 ай бұрын
Its hard to throw clear and risky because of catching i think
@jasonsanders-fox51314 ай бұрын
I'm no expert at all but yeah, unless you well trained I'd say it's very hard to pull off, maybe easily caught or even if you miss target, could make you a target 🎯. Again, probably looks easy when practice sparing or hiting pads but when in an actual street fight, I know that a lot of what you thought you knew goes out the window.
