I bought this car in September last year and as far as it goes, it was the best decision I could have made! Veloce Q4, Modelyear 2022, Blu Misano colour. This car is simply amazing. Not just beautiful in design, but you have to drive it yourself to be able to put it into words. This over BMW 3 series? ANY TIME!

I'm SOOOOO glad you finally got to sit behind the wheel and review a Giulia. I remember when you raced against it in the Acura TLX Aspec, you were noticeably rooting against the Alfa. Having owned my Giulia for over 4yrs now, it's such a beautiful and almost irreplaceable machine. You nailed it at the end. It's simple, egregiously elegant, subtle and is outperformed by a multitude of vehicles..... BUT the one thing not many cars can do better is the EXPERIENCE. The feel, the handling, the response and connection to the drivetrain. It gives you just enough creature comfort and technology to NOT take away the fact that you're driving a piece of art meant for a particular purpose. No matter where you go, the Giulia is always noticed by the world when you're in it

Alfas are all for driving. Nobody's giving a damn about better infotainment systems that the Germans have in their furniture on wheels. If one's gotta drive a real car, this is it. Alfas have heart and soul and passion. Otherwise you can go out and buy a tablet on wheels from Germany or a battery on wheels from US or from anyone who tries to force all of us to buy the electric crap.

It’s crazy always seeing how positive the comments are about the Giulia yet I never see them on the road. I’m the only one I know with an Alfa and in my area there’s maybe one other Giulia. I like standing out when everyone else has a 3 series or c class. It doesn’t have their interior but this car is a drivers car, no interior lighting gimmicks or iPads pasted on dash, just a simple streamlined design to help focus on the drive, and this thing handles so freaking good!

2017 Ti Lusso here. 80K miles and all I've replaced was the A/C compressor last summer. Butter soft leather not a bruise or crack, lightning fast shifts from the ZF in "D" mode, and the 306 lb ft is enough to throw you back in a car that only weighs 3600 lbs. Oh, and on the hwy you can get 37 mpg easily. My wife loves driving it so much, she won't even drive the 2023 A4 I got her in March because the Alfa is now out of warranty and I always like to have her drive the newest most reliable car. It isn't perfect, but it is perfect for me.

@@DonViToCRLNE Because Audis are more reliable than Japanese? There are like 3 unreliable engines from the last 20 years, but the other 8 engines have been spotless. German cars are the choice for fleets, Audi might have issues compared to BMW and Mercedes which both commonly drive a million km within 2-3 years in Europe with no repairs as that’s why no one buys rusty japanese cars disintegrating after 50k km there.

Just picked up a 2023 Sprint leftover, which I wanted, with the base seats which at 6'2" 188cm and 245lbs 110kg I wanted, the flappy paddles and the 2 pane sunroof, for $34k. Love it! Coming from a slightly clapped out 2012 Passat with 415k miles quite the change! Alfa ate all about the passion. They touch the heart and replenish the soul!

From my perspective my brother has a 2017 alfa romeo giulia 2.0 ti its a amazing car when you put in sport mode it turns into a rocket and throws you back in your seat definitely not a slouch and i been in some fast cars also the car definitely stands out it breaks alot of necks the transmission one of the smoothest i been in i would say this competes easily with the g70 330i m230i definitely one of the best sport sedans in its class

100% yes and that's what I did. I cross shopped with the M340i and C43, and even though the Alfa has no comparable trim, and I needed to AWD (canceled out the QV) I went with a '23 Estrema. It just drives so much better than the German equivalents, and I still look back at it after I park every time. I agree with Sam, if you are looking at sports sedans, look at the Giulia. Then buy it, and be different.

I really wish they had a mid trim but I agree the way it drives outweighs the 350HP 6 cylinder. The steering and chassis dynamics blows the Germans away. So much more engaging, sharp, and characterful. I owned a B9 S4 and even a base model Stelvio has better steering and chassis dynamics.

I have a 2016 Alfa Giulia, the first new car I purchased, before I always had German cars. with the Italian it was the car with the most problems I had despite being new, you won't believe it but it has been in the workshop more than 20 times due to electrical problems, loss of oil, etc, etc, I have never had a car as unreliable as this one. The problem of oil loss in the engine has already been to the official workshop 3 times (like every other time), and I still have a new cap next week because it hasn't been resolved. They are not robust! “Now I know what being an Alfista means” is having a beautiful car with a wonderful driving sensation but which gives you a lot of problems and you still love your car. another 4 years and I will send it for scrap.

Just rented this car (it was a upgrade) for my wife to drive to a conference. I'm a car enthusiast (have a Saleen and Cobra Mustang) my wife? Not so much. I spend a day driving this car around and was very impressed by the power, handling and styling of the car. Plus the affordability of the car compared to BMW and MB. It's differently an enthusiast car. My wife drove the car to her conference and was also impressed but said she would prefer an SUV but she did like the Alfa Romeo for the same reasons I mentioned before. Good car, good review.

I have to say that a few years ago when shopping for my old 2016C300 I shortlisted this one, but reliability comments made me steer away (I was planning to get a Certified Pre-Owned). I've owned one since 2019, squadra tuned to 320bhp. Yeah the infotainment system is whack and slow, but who cares once you put your foot down? Every time you park it, you look back. If you don't do that, you bought the wrong car. A car is as much about how it makes you feel as it is about it being able to perform the basic task of getting from A to B. The Giulia does that in epic style.

@@spice3767 3000% worth it. 0-60 time, if grip levels are adequate, can be sub 5 seconds. The car is an animal like this. But you can still drive it comfortably as well.

The thing is with these cars is that they have terrible resale. But that is a good thing if you are buying used! $30k (USD) will get you a very clean, low mileage Veloce trim. This is an insane value! Better still, the depreciation is not justified. These cars have quite average reliability, which isn't bad for a performance car. They are definitely cheaper to maintain/repair than the equivalent German sports sedan. Seen multiple reviews from mechanics around the world with Giulias up to seven years old, and they all say this is a reasonably reliable car and well made. Just be sure to get a 2019 or newer because there were some issues with the first couple of years.

I got my Estrema at Alfa Romeo Toronto and I just asked them to skip the front plate installation. That was in March of this year, and I haven't had any issues with the cops yet at all. I don't live in a big city and am pretty confident I am the only Alfa in a 150km radius, still no issues.

Do people have any comments on brake by wire? It's an electronic system with hydraulics. Makes me feel uneasy 10-20 years down the road when electronics could fail. Is there some type of back up system?

Miss the analogues dials. Real shame AR management caved in to all what the others are doing. Back seats never were good. Smaller than the BMW 3. I mean, if you want to win against BMW 3, add a bit larger back. All these 1% add up. Typical f-ing Italians, never can get the basics right. I have more than 100k miles on my Giulia without reliability issues, staistics wise Alfas are equivalent or above in reliability to equal generation Mercs and BMW's. Ever since they extended that triangular grille pass the upper bumper line, it turns me off. My late Dad owned Alfetta Sedans, one was the Alfetta 2000, the other two 1.8 of which 1 was a spare part car He Also owned a 2 lt GTV 105,GT Junior and a Giulia 1.3 lt Sedan. Those were good looking Alfa although I did not quite like the boxy Giulia. Then it became uglier, 75, 90, 164, 155, 156, 147 and so on. This Giulia would look gorgeous had Alfa gone back to put a smaller grill like they did in the70's.

Save your money and get a 2022 Elantra N-Line. With very basic exhaust mods and intake. You will smash this thing in the top end. I caught one on a hwy going up a gradual grade doing about 135 mph. I passed him doing 146 mph on my way to 151 mph GpS verified. Then I slowed down and he went by me.

The Giulia is SUBSTANTIALLY more than just speed. The entire experience and handling destroys the Elantra in every way. The only vehicle I've genuinely enjoyed driving more than my Giulia is a Cayman GT4.

@@oodyjones nope that 2.0L can’t do much more then 145 and he couldn’t catch up when I hit 151 mph rpm limited. Just remember my car isn’t completely stock and I can out handle the Giulia because my suspension has coilovers, lower body reinforcements trunk bar and front shock tower bar. Michelin pilot sport tires. Hopefully you know “I’m not saying” that I can out run the 3.9L V6 TT 500hp? The 2.0 4 cyl makes 280 on the motor not to the wheels. You lose lots of power through that awd drivetrain!

He brought the Tonale to the US, put a Dodge badge on it with a different bumper and boom the ,,new Dodge", because his country isnt able to build cars. Now there are stoopid people saying around to every Alfa ,,its a Dodge" but dont realise that its only the Tonale but its even the Dodge that is based on the Alfa!!
