Some additional info Avermedia reached out to inform me about based on feedback from this video: 1) Regarding the "washed out" video when tracking/zooming, a firmware update scheduled for early April should resolve this. 2) The 3.5mm rear mic input is working as designed. Avermedia states it works as a microphone "extension" which means that the onboard mic stays active even if an external microphone is plugged in and they work at the same time. Its designed to automatically switch between what it thinks is best based on how it hears through the microphones. My feedback on being able to toggle the external microphone port manually is still being considered though. Here's to hoping continuous firmware/software updates keep on further improving this cam!

It's crazy how loud they make these little speakers these days. A guy was testing a little speaker with his phone and I thought it was a huge system it was a tiny speaker.😊

My wife has a Pixel 4 phone and it surprised me how loud they can sound and still sound decent for cell phone speakers

For 600 clams I'd get a laptop with a non-shit camera or some Sony camera.

Yeah for your average person or streamer, going with a mirrorless or dslr camera does make sense but for the intended market of this camera neither of those solutions would work, especially something like a sony camera that would a capture card and appropriate lens setup as well. Check out the vid linked at the end for a budget sony mirrorless camera option though :)
