I used to have a 2008 Saab 9-5 with the 2.3T. Man I loved that car. It wasn’t reliable at all, and it wasn’t cheap to repair/maintain. But it was comfortable, and it was very quick for its time. I believe appx 260 turbocharged HP and a low 6 sec 0-60. Atrociously slow off the line, but when it gets into the powerband and built up boost, it pulled like hell. If I recall, top gear drove one and said the 40-80 mph pull in the Saab was faster than a Porsche 911 (may have the details mixed up a bit)

My buddy Tino had one of the Sasb 9-3 Areo v6 twin turbo with a 6 speed manual. He needed a truck heavy enough to pull a single car trailer with import cars on it. He borrowed my custom 4x4 extended wheel base 6 door Suburban with microwave, coffee maker, 6 captains chairs, 2 DVD, 5 monitors, playstation 2, laptop, printer, fridge, 6 batteries, with 110/240 convertor, wind generator on top with cargo rack and 8 Hella lights. So for two months while he imported Nissan 180, Silvia, Skylines and such delivering them through OR, CA, ID, MT, OK,ect... In exchange I got his Saab and his card lock gas ⛽️ stop card for free fuel plus $3,000 for the wear and tear on my truck. It was a great car. Very fast and could hold 120mph throgh MT sipping gas at only 3,000 rpm

25:25 - I love that gen of the 9-3, here in Europe we even have TID and TTID diesel variants with the 2.2DTI Opel and the stout 1.9 Multijet from Fiat (the 1.9 TTID is the most powerful one, twin turbo with 180HP, 400NM of torque with the same curve/power delivery of a gasoline engine, it never stops pulling!). @@collyoung6017 The 3.0 diesel was only offered from 2002-2005 on the 9-5 along with the Isuzu 2.2. the 2006 restyle only had a 1.9 single turbo diesel, and then the 2010 new generation 9-5 only had the option of a 2.0 diesel which was just an upbored 1.9. The first 9-3 was only offered with a 2.2, with the second generation being offered with either a 2.2 or 1.9 single turbo. the 2.2 was dropped after the facelift for a 1.9 single or dual turbo diesel. The 3.0 was never offered in the 9-3, it was a junk engine regardless, continuously blowing head gaskets and cracking cylinder liners. the 2.2/1.9s are far more reliable.

Hey Randy, I have a 2009 Smart Cabrio that I use as a daily driver and love it to death! It is so much fun and the car just screams personality! Smarts have very unusual transmissions that alone can be challenging. Also, the main communication cabling between modules goes through the steering column, which of course the steering column can chafe through (ask me how I know). That all said, if everything works and the cabling is intact; they are great little cars! The on in this video is a Brabus which means it has a turbo 1 liter 3 cylinder which generates 101 hp (mine is non turbo at 71 hp). The car weighs less than 2000 lbs, so at 101 hp, that car is going to be zippy!!!

6:58: That's blinker fluid. The CR-V looks clean. Find a way to get rid of the smell and fix any head gasket issues and it will make a great reliable econobox. The 9-3 looks slick. Airconditioning boxes on these Cadillacs become extremely brittle. Mine was exactly like breaking dark chocolate. Also engine out on these takes a professional like 5-6 hours? If not less. Changing alternator isn't too bad. You have to access it from the bottom. I know some models have a cut out in the frame or whatever so you can pull alternator out. I'd buy it if it was cheap enough.
