@LangkeeLongkee Жыл бұрын
People with schizophrenia notoriously claim their cured ALL the time. That is very typical especially if they're in treatment. Because of their delusions and such they tend to associate imporvment with being cured, many go off their meds and hide it because they think they don't need it anymore and try to play off hallucinations and such because they don't believe they need help still. That's just even more proof of her mental state.

Usually that means through medication, and SO many people will stop taking their medications as soon as they are no longer forced to (with any mental illness). So in that regard, I don't believe she could ever be fully let out into society, assuming she is medicated. Who's to say that she won't relapse. @nafiamaliat27 Жыл бұрын
It’s so confusing but here’s what I’ve theorised a bit. I guess, the rage towards her mother may have come from the abuse (I use may cause there’s no way I can be 100% certain that she was in fact abused) and that may have led to the ultimate psychotic break she had. However, that psychotic break sent her into a full blown delusion, likely due to the anger she felt towards her mother. “Cecelia” is a product of her delusion as opposed to just simple creation. The reason the abuse is not adding up in my head is if she was abused by both parents, how come only her mother suffered? Could it have been a case of whoever was there first? Maybe it was just the mother who abused her? We’ll never know. Truly a tragic case tbh.
@alexissagraves Жыл бұрын

Never want to discount someone’s mental illness- but it’s so hard to understand this case because it really seemed like a vindictive targeted attack, even pressed herself against the door to keep the step father out. Usually schizophrenia makes a person more of a threat to themselves, very rare for them to kill other people. Either way, I feel so horrible for her mom. Even if it was due to schizophrenia, clearly she’s a dangerous person who needs to be kept in a psychiatric hospital for life so she isn’t a danger to the community.

Not true! My ex mother in law who had schizophrenia tried to kill my young daughter!! My ex husband took my children to Ohio. Don't leave my children alone with her. What did he do? Left my young daughter alone with her so he and other family could go to an amusement park. Meanwhile I'm in FL and panicked because mil said she didn't have my daughter. Which did. Meanwhile she kept calling me and probably at least 15 times telling me she can't wait to meet my children. Meanwhile I'm knowing my daughter is at her house! You talk about panic!! My daughter was found covered in blankets and pillows. My ex took me seriously and left the amusement park to check. Fortunately he was in time and my baby girl was was okay! My heart sank that day almost losing my daughter! Scisophrenia is beyond serious and they do try to harm others! I wish there was a cure but unfortunately it goes misdiagnosed or they stop taking meds which my ex mil did a lot! It's a horrible disease for anyone to go through or a family to go through trying to help. They think the meds are harming them so they stop in so many cases. Very sad! The problem is if they aren't monitored on taking meds, then it only gets way beyond control. Sorry for the long story, but yes they do try to harm others! God was on my side that day! My daughter is now 23 and I am so very grateful!

My mother is paranoid schizophrenic. Currently in my 30's I've gone low low contact because of my children. She believes I've been replaced by "them" and often hurts herself attempting to remove items placed in her also by "them". This person is only safe to be around while she is medicated. When someone lives on their own independently there is no guarantee they're taking their pills.

Reading your comment touched my heart. And while you left it 5 months ago, I'm just reading it now. I also have schizophrenia in my family. I lost my uncle and my dad because of it. My brother now struggles with it as well. Keeping him on his meds was a battle and a half, but now there are medications that are a once a month injection. This has been amazing for my brother so far. It took time and patience and some hospitalization to get the right concoction for him, but he's back. It's been incredible for our family. Maybe worth looking into. God bless and best wishes.

@nelljnfr I don't mind at all! Him and I have different moms, so it was his grandma and aunt on his mom's side. If he gets sentenced to death, though, I understand and won't fight it. His mom's side of the family has disowned him. They ask me for updates but have no interest in seeing or speaking to him. One time he broke into someone's house to escape the robots and they found him totally freaked out in the basement...we're lucky one of them knew my mom and she was able to get there in time to de-escalate things...I would like to think my brother would *never* actually hurt anyone, but he's huge and was very scared and thought his life was in danger...so I don't know. He's luckily doing much better, he's in a group home and has lots of help. But I can't imagine how things would be if he had hurt or killed someone before he got help.

If she was truly psychotic at the time of the murder (and the State Doctor said she was, and I trust their opinion more than the opinion of a youtube comments section) then she wasn’t responsible for her actions. If she wasn’t responsible for her actions then she doesn’t need to be “rehabilitated” she just needs to be stable on treatment so that she won’t develop psychotic delusions again. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity - that means she doesn’t need to serve a minimum term, she needs to remain in hospital treatment until she’s well enough to be managed in the community. Talking about this case as if she was responsible for her actions and then casually throwing in at the end “and she had schizophrenia and was found not guilty by reason of insanity” before debating how much “time she should serve” for having a severe illness is ridiculous

i agree. she needs to serve time

@@sabrinapotter849I haven’t watched the full video I’m only about 10 min in so I have no judgment yet on whether Isabella is schizophrenic or mentally ill. However, mental illness, especially disassociative disorders like schizophrenia, mania, etc is more than just “not meaning it” you cannot control your body, mind or actions.

@@Shannon-pb7ut ok, and so finish the video then lol. This is MY opinion, and regardless, her mother deserves justice.

What bothers me is that she been had problems when she was very young. Why didn’t anybody took her to a doctor about her schizophrenia diagnosis earlier when she was still a child? You don’t know what’s going on with yourself until it’s too late

Stabbed her own mother 79 times... my goodness. Keep her isolated from society. Isabella has no business seeing anything outside of a prison cell.

I don’t think she should ever be released. I have an aunt whose suffered from schizophrenia since 18. Some days are great and some days are like starting at the beginning of it all again. Typically they’re on medications but once they’re out of care/an institution no one is watching to make sure they take their meds that help them…she could easily turn into a danger to others again.

I'm not buying the schizophrenia bit... it seems all too convenient that she is just now finding out about this condition she has...

I don't understand why her parents never saw the signs of schizophrenia. Or at the very lease had her evaluated by a doctor or psychiatrist?

Same !! Seems like an act and awfully good timing of diagnosis

Stigma of mental illness is real. People think we’re violent criminals who are faking our illnesses. Just look at the comment section

her behavioral problems were likely the signs of schizophrenia
