Salam Ihsan I have been watching your videos over the last few days and it has resonated with me deeply. I am muslim but i have never been able to fully surrender completely. The interpretation I have heard since childhood was steeped with dogmatism, judgment and fear. I felt guilty because internally i would question this and felt my iman was weak. But i feel relief now because i know that my need for peace and presence and focusing on spirituality does not contradict islam. So thank you. Btw have you ever read A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle? He speaks of the ego and living in the present moment.

Peace and light, salaam Asmaa. Unfortunately, few of us have been taught the faith in its fullness, completeness, balance and beauty. Yet God is Great, and such has been His will. It gives us the opportunity to rediscover the reality of the religion, and so in many ways, to embrace it again. Yes, I have read some of Eckhart Tolle's material. A beautiful example of spontaneous awakening. Yet there is a limitation to what a human being can reach when not connected through a prophetic path. Such awakenings, beautiful and blessed, are but the first steps upon the path to true maarifah, or gnosis, knowledge and direct experience of the Divine Presence of God. May His light and guidance be with you. To your divine and eternal success.
