So it’s going to mean absolutely nothing but treated as a healthier or better version of the product regardless? I mean, AI, at least in our current system is unsustainable and sucks. I still remember J Lo being absolutely awful in like the 4th Ice Age movie. Maybe singer-celebrities should just stay in their lane and make popular music, instead of trying too hard to be actors, too (or directors in Sia’s case)? Taylor Swift was also pretty flat in Illumination’s The Lorax, Rihanna was incomprehensible in Battleship and I think Valerian…

Netflix makes so much crap that they have essentially hit a point where it is impossible for them to make a guilty pleasure type of movie. I didn't think it was gonna be good from the get go and pretty much got what i expected. A lot of the complaints Charlie seems to have were explained in the movie at some point so i guess he wasn't really paying attention. Also Harlan doesn't just plan to wipe out humanity and be done but rebuild the world under the guidance of AI to curb humanity's self destructive tendencies. The biggest thing i got from it is that Ai is only gonna become dangerous if some human fucks up and gives it access to what it shouldn't have. It also has that old school buddy cop vibes just between human and AI. Or fuck maybe im just old lol Either way i've seen way worse movies than this one. Like Jiu Jitsu with Nic Cage.

keep in mind that a 50% is HORRIBLE for a percentage. A passable, profitable movie tends to be around 75-80%, unless you're Illumination and can mass produce slop at a bargain-bin price. A 50% is a failing grade, and unless sequels are already planned (like Velma 2023) or the director/producer has a significant amount of clout (like Zach Snyder and Redfall) that movie is unlikely to have a sequel. Also, I'm almost certain that Netflix is buying out positive reviews to try and balance out the bad reviews, so that might also have some effect. Multi-billion dollar corporations like Netflix have the money to throw around to improve their brownie points with RT and other review sites.
