Netflix raising their prices and STILL making shitty stuff

Raising their prices because all the smart people stopped giving them money, and their prices being raised likely hasn't gotten them back even close to how much they've lost from that leaving.

The budget for atlas was $100 million. They paid 100 million dollars for this trash failure of a movie. If they keep spending so much on trash so they to pay even more to make something good soon to recover then the prices will continue to grow.

The worst part is that I canceled my subscription two years ago, and I still receive thirsty emails from them that read like the ramblings of an unhinged ex. The subjects of those emails are just cringe : "Come back to us", "Absence makes the heart grow fonder", "We have changed and improved ourselves". Netflix, move on and stop being so clingy.

@@TheMissingDislikeButton partly. They pay their executives and investors more and more every year too. Which requires exponential growth. Which is impossible to keep up forever without raising prices. Since there’s always going to be finite growth from the finite group of people who will pay for their service each month that’s the only way to generate income with ads.

Funny story actually: The other night, my mom and I were going through Netflix for a movie to watch and we happened to pick Atlas (This video wasn’t out yet) and we both shrugged, deciding to see if it was good. Probably only a minute in of the exposition at the start, we just looked at each other and said “nah”. Decided not to watch Netflix that night. It’s that bad.

@traceable7875 6 ай бұрын
So it’s going to mean absolutely nothing but treated as a healthier or better version of the product regardless? I mean, AI, at least in our current system is unsustainable and sucks. But like, sugar free and all natural don’t exactly mean anything good. Because all natural doesn’t prevent the use of natural poisons and other things that still hurt you. And artificial sweeteners used in sugar free also don’t help and studies show they don’t actually tend to stop much weight loss… A better comparison might be “plastic free” provided it’s something you know you are gonna reuse.

Let's just be honest. JLO had 2 good movies.... Selena and Anaconda (some will find that debatable and I understand.) Only reason people even saw Gigli was for her ass. Everyone else forgot, but not me!!

Netflix does make good content but they usually cancel the second season or movie for another season of Big mouth or this current mess of a movie Atlas.

Not that my mom has submitted her opinion to rotten tomatoes to contribute to the 50%+ rotten tomatoes viewer score. But she did enjoy the movie, she never told me why. She just really loves bad movies

As far as Netflix original movies go this one was actually pretty decent. Yes it was generic and doing the same thing for the millionth time but i don't know what people were expecting from it. I didn't think it was gonna be good from the get go and pretty much got what i expected. A lot of the complaints Charlie seems to have were explained in the movie at some point so i guess he wasn't really paying attention. Also Harlan doesn't just plan to wipe out humanity and be done but rebuild the world under the guidance of AI to curb humanity's self destructive tendencies. The biggest thing i got from it is that Ai is only gonna become dangerous if some human fucks up and gives it access to what it shouldn't have. It also has that old school buddy cop vibes just between human and AI. Or fuck maybe im just old lol Either way i've seen way worse movies than this one. Like Jiu Jitsu with Nic Cage.

I watched a video yesterday that explained how Google AI was telling some to put Elmer's glue on pizza and others to eat rocks. Hmmm...

Stir fried pebbles is an actual thing in China. They literally had no food, so would suck pebbles cooked with chillies and other spices as a meal.

keep in mind that a 50% is HORRIBLE for a percentage. A passable, profitable movie tends to be around 75-80%, unless you're Illumination and can mass produce slop at a bargain-bin price. A 50% is a failing grade, and unless sequels are already planned (like Velma 2023) or the director/producer has a significant amount of clout (like Zach Snyder and Redfall) that movie is unlikely to have a sequel. Also, I'm almost certain that Netflix is buying out positive reviews to try and balance out the bad reviews, so that might also have some effect. Multi-billion dollar corporations like Netflix have the money to throw around to improve their brownie points with RT and other review sites.

I am honestly disappointed because my parents were telling me today about how they were watching this movie and said they liked the first half and then my parents have the audacity to give me recommendations like brother what
