Brutal Orchestra is a Turn-Based Roguelike Strategy Game. You died, someone killed you. You are now in Purgatory and you will never escape. Make a deal with the "demon" Bosch and set off into this bastardous world finding ​all manner of demented friends and foes on your quest to get petty revenge.

The charcarrion was the first fight I truly struggled to win, it goes on for sooooo long. Took me nearly 40 minutes alone but I got through it. Having high cost red attacks is basically vital to prevent overflow, or like me you can slowly build up spikes with that one blue dude. I must have gotten about 50 stacks at the end of it lol. Felt very rewarding to finally accomplish but I do not blame you at all for giving up on it in that situation. It was standing in the way of me and my five winstreak so I felt I had to give it my best shot.

The progress you've made on your plays this run is so fun to watch, really loving the series as a whole. I think the only big mistake you make is making actions before reading the enemy actions/passives, BO is all about adapting to the enemies

If there’s one thing to take away from this run, it’s that you might need to take a moment to evaluate your ressources, there were plenty of moments where you missed an opportunity to deal damage, dodge an attack or even kill an enemy, but you would often take unnecessary risks or miscalcute something, which is something you’ll probably learn to avoid. they don’t say failure is the best teacher for no reason, because this game heavily punishes you if you don’t learn from mistakes.

Man... This is exactly the kind of game I'd hate to play myself. It's a bit like the Darkest Dungeon where there is just so many parameters and variables to a fight that you must have your brain running at 100% capacity to not make a slight oversight/mistake that will cost you a run. I AM, however, entirely fine with watching someone else play it and suffer through it. Cheers.

From experience, the best way to tackle fights is with Nowak, a fighter like griffin or burnout and a healer like Hans. 3 fools is the golden middle between efficiency and evasion. Also, Agon is very solid. You can choose him at the start of your next run with his star move: REVIVE. He is a garanteed win.

you don’t take the time to read the enemies’ passives. In your first fight, the enemy that attacked 3 times had overexert, you could’ve easily prevented most of the damage taken. It didn’t really matter in the end but still.

There is an occasional opportunity to predict where osman is going to end his turn and sometimes he will not attack that spot because he moves AFTER attacking so you could move someone to it and wait for the next turn, attack and move again and whittle down his hp This is in case you get stuck with a 1v1 against him again

No, he'll always Mortal Horizon as his last attack on the space he ends up on. He's not Skittish, his attacks move him. In a 1v1 the strategy you really want to use is waiting for him to be up against the side of the arena, then using Parry to push him aside provided his attacks for the turn don't move him back into that space. Its revive has nothing to do with removing scars, its a separate action independent of the other. It removes your scars so you get a quick break in the turn between fights. Charcarrion can be a slog so tactically removing scars is essential for consistent wins

You should've switched Brigade of Dis for Wormski n(cuz Pearl needed a way to hit the boss as often as possible and not leave everything to Nowak) and left Cranes out of the battle because of his slippery nature, otherwise you were doing fine.

This is an example of my only issue with most rougelikes, I love them, but having ur run get crippled and being left alive to limp around knowing ur just waiting to lose and might aswell give up kinda sucks

Now that the design criticism box is open, I really have a bit with the game Why is the only reasonably reliable healing option *stalling* an basically already won fight with either Hans or some very specific items? Picking a healer at the start does kinda fix this but then why bother with having no healer as an option at all from the get go? I love myself some random and difficult games but this design choice feels _weird_

If it was an actual puzzle game, like say, Into the Breach - sure, you'll have means to avoid and mitigate damage and don't even need to kill everything or lose when pilots die. But this game has such tricky and sticky damage I just don't know how to look at it.

I do actually agree. It’s frustrating that the only way to heal is by essentially delaying fights just to heal. If you have a healer in the early game, you can all but guarantee full health the whole game. If you don’t have a healer, you’re just f’d.

@@idiothead5511 my point is how both games handle their combat puzzle. In ItB, even the deadliest encounters have a lot of legroom to prevent permanent damage and then you have reliable healing to buy plus your mechs get fixed every fight. And the fights are all very short , they have time limits and that's it. Stalling feels strategic and rewarding. In HBBO, sometimes, you are *bound* to take permanent, run ending damage even before getting into the fight just from how your squad is set up. And the stalling to patch back up doesn't feel rewarding, it feels like a chore and not fun. I love how enemies sometimes kill themselves or each other or flee, but that's miles away from ItB. Also the undo and rewinds are optional but providential for puzzle feel. Which this game doesn't really have.

In short, in ItB you live with your failures. In this game, your failures just haunt and bully you. Which might be thematic and fitting, I love Dark Souls. But everybody hates running back to bosses.

yo fuck this game. just had an insane run with new characters, was breezing through the normal enemy levels and killed ouroboros in 2 turns. And then my entire party gets oneshot by some enemies that linked them all together. Literally lost 4 characters in a single turn.
