@Robert-G
@Robert-G 5 жыл бұрын
Phil Matic rgb might not sacrifice function, but putting pigments in your coolant, that will clog up whatever they come in contact with, definitely sacrifices pretty everything, except (maybe) optics. My EK stuff came with rgb, and I use the one on the reservoir to show water temp. and the mono block shows cpu temp. But I dialed the brightness down as much as I could.
@sunlg
@sunlg 5 жыл бұрын
@@phil_matic I think it was Gamers Nexus that looked into that at some point. At least RGB ram sacrifices function if you're overclocking it. As the power draw from the RGB would hog up some of the power you throw at the RAM sticks. Which leads to lower max stable clocks at a given voltage.

I have been using a $12 lapel ("lavalier") microphone that clips on, for years, that sounds better than every single expensive headset. And it's the same size! Why the fuck do these headset microphones always sound so bad? I don't understand, I legitimately don't. @@MrPruske I record the audio with a dinky little phone app. So they should just make the headset 1% bigger then! There's still audible echo in your audio track. I know you're facing an open area while speaking to the camera. A trick I like to use is to set up a couple of large cloth photo backdrops (or blankets) on either side of the camera(s). Thanks for the review Jay. I do have a question related to headphones and using the Oculus Rift for racing games. When I have my Rift on and use a headphone instead of the included on ear pieces the headphone goes over the straps of the Rift that go on the sides of your head. That's causes the earcups not to seal of for 100% so sound is leaking and I miss a lot of deep tones / bass. Would open back headphones eliminate this issue? Or what headphones would you recommend to be used in conjunction with a VR headset?

I have the wired version and love the sound fidelity. These headphones converted me to a Sennheiser fan. Now to just save up for some good audio cans. I've been streaming on twitch and I don't sound well too bad (it's always awkward hearing your own voice IMO), but that's b/c I'm wired and plugged into the SoundBlaster X7. I guess just another reason to not go wireless . . . yet :*(

Are you connected using Bluetooth or the RF adapter? Bluetooth bandwidth is not there for audio and voice. I think their RF adapter would perform better? I love using my Corsair Void Pro RGB.

Did you try with the separate proprietary RF transceiver? If it's not based on bluetooth it might have better bandwidth, but.. you'd think they send one with the review headphones.

I've got a headset recommendation: The Steelseries Arctus 7, my current headset. Out of curiosity, I checked its settings, and allowed me to crank the format to 16 bit, 48000 Hz, which is a lot higher than that headset you just reviewed. Despite that though I'm not sure the mic holds up as "quality". Then again I'm spoiled because I use a Blue Yeti on a shock mount for my voice, then use the USB audio for surround sound and plug a line in cable from my mic to the wireless receiver to my headset so I can hear my own voice. It's a little complicated. However I'm genuinely curious what your opinions would be for the mic on the Arctis 7 itself, in comparison to the Sennheiser GSP 670.

Are you sure you have the Windows settings up? I know everyone complains about the void pro mic but when I got mine I checked the Windows settings the mic quality reverted to its lowest setting and ever since I cranked it back up, everyone says my voice sounds amazing.
