Wild song, cool band! Fun fact: Primus developed the catchphrase "Primus sucks" in their early years. The phrase originated when fans would compliment the band, and bassist and vocalist Les Claypool would respond, "Nah, we suck". The band then began introducing themselves on stage as "We're Primus, and we suck", and fans began to adopt the phrase as a sign of affection. Audiences would chant the phrase before the show and as a request for an encore. The band eventually embraced the phrase and began selling t-shirts with it printed on them. Claypool has said that he considers it a compliment when fans tell him the band sucks. ✌️

Once upon a time in Hong Kong, I took a gang from a House Music party back to my apartment to continue, and we ended up putting on the Primus DVD, and after a few initial 'whats this'.... the whole gang became massive Primus fans. Even years later I would hear the odd 'Primus' shouted at me when in a club or bar.

i saw PRIMUS on the tour where their 2nd set was the full album of FAREWELL TO KINGS by RUSH-it was amazing they even had dbl neck bass/guitar and wore kimonos not to mention i saw them open for ANTHRAX and PUBLIC ENEMY on the BRING THE NOISE tour back in the day

He is so talented that He tried out to be Metallica`s Bassist after the Death of Cliif Burton and they told him that He was too good! It's a song all right, you nailed the head on that one. Primus does lots of songs like this. Or rather, not like this. The bassist is Les Claypool, easily one of the top 5 bassists of all time. The guitarist is Larry LaLonde who actually coined the phrase "death metal", although that was when he was in another group. The gravelly voiced singer is Tom Waits who isn't in the band. Actually Claypool was a roadie for Waits' band at one point. And Tim Alexander is the drummer, though sometimes Brain Mantia fills in on some of the tracks in this period. Other great works by Primus include "Space Farm", "Over The Falls", "Southbound Pachyderm", "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver", "Coattails of a Dead Man", "Pilcher's Squad", "Mr. Krinkle", "My Name Is Mud", "The Air Is Getting Slippery", and "Shake Hands With Beef".
