As an already established fan of the series, when they first announced a live action, I audibly groaned. As more information came out and I felt the love and passion going into it, I had a good feeling about it. When the actual trailer of the show dropped it had me absolutely ecstatic for the show. When the time came for the show to launch, I was without power from Hurricane Idalia. I had to watch it, I needed to see if it was good, fate just said no. Then the power finally came back on, I binge watched the entire thing in one night, staying up late to finish it. I laughed, I cried, I smiled throughout the entire show, I was so happy. In my opinion, it is good, if not great, and should only get better from here on out.

@StanNotSoSaint Жыл бұрын
She should be scary to at least Coby. And her hostages too. If anything it would be cooler for Luffy to disregard more threatening foe than less threatening one. But in LA Alvida is just too cute. And her movement looked too clumsy. I just don't know how her crew would be afraid of her.

@@TheDeathmailwhich is the problem. In the manga/anime she’s introduced as the scary pirate lady who is stronger than anybody on her crew and seen as a monster by others like Cody. Then I immediately started watching the anime from episode 1 to see the differences and I got to tell you ... some of the changes they made in the live action were fantastic. It's like they took 3-4 episodes and thought "what is the essence of this and how can we get it done better and faster?". They did a great job. Yes, there are some "filler" episodes from teh anime that would have been great in the netflix show but there is not enough time/budget to do so. Something else would have suffered.

3:17 the lines are actually REALLY close to luffy's character. He's flat and straightforward when he speaks, and when luffy meets koby, he genuinely just says "I'm hungry." "I wonder if this place has any free boats." "Shut up." "You're a dumb stupid idiot." "You're a wimp too? Man, I hate you!". This isn't him having poorly written dialogue, it just shows us how brutally honest and simple minded he is which I love him for And if they spoke closer to how dialogue is done in anime, it wouldnt feel natural at ALL. Remember, the purpose of the live action is to bring new fans to the series through something they're used to, the target audience obviously being non anime watchers, so i dont think it'd do well at all if they spoke very animated -- but yeah, i do agree that some of the dialogue could be done better

Ignore Charlie saying he hates luffy. He’s one of the most loved anime characters of all time, 99% of one piece fans have him in A or S tier

Their costumes being too clean and everything pristine made it look like a stage show a lot, but once I got over that I loved it.

Don't listen to moists critique of luffy's character he heavily misunderstands luffy's character. This luffy is a lot more playful and relatable than the manga version but the manga version is so consistent as a character, everything you need to know about the character is told through his actions and it means he can surprise us without any cliche anime internal monologues that take up time..

While it doesn't seem like a bad train, I definitely won't hop on a 1000+ episode ride, no way... I often found 20-30 ep long series empty at points, like they can't really fill all of them with valuable, good content. People say we missed an "insane amount of character development" and "important fights", but I can not imagine a series keeping up my interest for hundreds of episodes. Don't tell me it has so many deep philosophical questions or interesting and a half actions for that long...

@@staLkerhuI hate to be “that guy” but just read the manga then or use a filler guide online to dodge the filler in the anime. I get that neither solutions are ideal but I’d the series is so good that it’s still worth it

@@staLkerhu😂😂funny thing is mostly everything you doubted is there. I’ll have to admit there are less than a handful of entire arcs that were a humungous drag. However mostly everything is intentional in the sense that even the boring/seeming pointless sections lead to something significant. Manga does a better job but the anime has many fillers, but you can usually tell from the title card and can easily skip.

I was worried, but the more I saw of it, the more excited I go. And the sets, they are just amazing!! I just love that they used real sets and prostetics. It felt like classic film in a good way. The CGI was kept to a minimum and used in creative ways. I think they did an awesome job and there were certainly glimers of what could be an INCREDIBLE adventure. It's certainly worth the ride and i hope they continue on.

You gotta understand as both an established fan of the series and my knowledge with how previous Live action adaptations of anime have gone, to say I was... apprehensive is an understatement. And yes as a fan there are things that were left out of the live action (im sure for time) such as the battle with Don Krieg at Barratie that left me dissapointed to not see. But all in all, I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with the series and find myself actually looking forward to a second season too see how they handle the grand line and Alabasta!

But ohh boy.. how refreshing is to see something that is not political and just focuses on story. I watched a few reviews videos and from what the people said in the videos, they kinda followed the original story with some small modifications that didn't altered the main idea of the series. For me personally, this is the best series released this year. I hope they do more seasons because from what i saw in reviews, there is content for hundreds of seasons :)))
