I’m from New Zealand and my dad owns a ski and surf shop so it’s fair to say I’ve been skiing my whole life. You’ve done really well for a first time skiing! The only tip I would give is to bring your hands/arms forward in front of you instead of close to your hips. This helps shift your body weight forward and helps you avoid getting in the “backseat” as we call it.

I've been skiing for 14+ years now and seriously, I don't think Milke realizes how insane it is to be doing intermediate runs just a few days after learning to ski. Generally, people stick with beginner runs for a couple of years before being able to move on the intermediate runs. The fact that he was able to in such a short period of time and with very very solid technique is incredible!

This is something i can really relate to it. I learned skiing in 3 -4 days when I was 24. My progression was very similar to Mike. I remember at night I felt legs moving, it was a bad sensation caused from too much practice. by the way I learned to ski. Then I was able to do a black track. So the secret is just practice and never surrender.

I don't normally comment on videos, but I have to comment on this one. I have been skiing for my entire life, next season will be 40 years of skiing for me. When I first started this video I was literally laughing at you, thinking to myself this guy is crazy if he thinks he is going to learn how to ski in a few hours before heading to the Alps. Then as I watched you progressed at an incredible pace, and by the end I was eating my words. I have to say I am more then impressed with how well you did and strongly feel you should focus on skiing as much as you can as you are a natural. Oh and like you know.....that terrible day was the best day of the trip for skiing, but clearly not when you are trying to learn and need to focus on that.
