100%. The fish care, reading the patterns for the fish, the presentation, music and himself give off a John Wilson vibe. We have TV companies burning money up the spout on trash shows when we could have low cost wholesome fishing shows presented by a few of the YT streamers. Fishing with Carl is another great channel. Stephen Hendry is doing better YT content than the BBC or ITV and trying to give the snooker players a personallity we don't normally get to see. Hendry, like Chris, is a top bloke.

As an American I love watching your videos to see all the interesting species you fish. Only fish we seem to have in common are perch and pike. But our perch generally don't get anywhere as big as the ones you get! Your vids are so fun and relaxing to enjoy.

Chris, was that tench healthy? That red rash looked a bit like Spring viremia, although i think that disease was eradicated from the UK some time ago. I remember seeing pics of it in the Angling press (in carp, but it affects all Cyprinids). There was a red rash just like that. Or maybe it's the fish's natural colour?

I've fished canals around me (Warwickshire, Worcestershire) for about 4 years. I've caught 2 small pike and a reasonable zander. That's it. I've fished for carp and tench in canals millions of times. No luck. The canals near me are always the colour of hot chocolate and there's so much boat traffic. I use the same methods on the river and I'm usually successful. So Chris and other professionals, is it me, or are the canals near me just absolute poop?
