Jung was one of the primary theorists who added to our understanding of the psychological significance of dreams, and working with dreams is often a central part of an analytic process. What is the Jungian understanding of why we dream? What does it mean if we don't dream, and what are some ways of learning to work with dreams? We discuss things one can do to help with dream recall, and ponder whether we dream all day long, even when awake. We also talk about the nature of symbols in dreams and dream series.    The dream:   I ran into a male friend who I have not seen for a few years in the lobby of a ridiculously high-end hotel. I was wearing only a towel. He asked me to join him in his room, which was called “the mermaid aquarium,” along with a female friend of his who was already in the room. Somewhere along the line in the hotel lobby he bought me orange-scented perfume. I found his room. I just remember entering the room and seeing two nude women lying on the bed wearing exotic jewelry.

I wish you would make a section just about dream interpretations. It's very helpful to hear the explanation behind the symbols

26:00 just had a major dream set in a hotel lobby, also a very wealthy one, but my sense was of a kind of serious and grown up wealth, I was an outsider to it.

I would like to hear the dreamer's interpretation of her own dream. That would be in line with Jung's understanding of dreams.

I dreamed that I was menaced by three prominent psychiatrists while strolling through a neighborhood that turned out to be home to many people of that profession. The three psychiatrists might have been psychoanalysts, but they were not Jungian analysts. The first two insisted that my prognosis looked very bad if I didn't follow their directives. I managed to get away from them. The third was convinced that I had damaged his motorcycle with my car and kept demanding my insurance information. I tried to prove to him that I wasn't responsible for the damage, then said something like, "You're a well-known psychiatrist, too, right?" He responded by trying to scare me into respecting his authority and giving him my insurance information, saying "We have juju!" I left him there and walked further down the street. At the opposite end of the same neighborhood I encountered three sympathetic men who understood my predicament with the psychiatrists. They befriended me and helped me get out. This wasn't what I would call a "big dream," but it was a good one.

THC affects sleeping patterns. If i begin to start smoking regularly i often cant remembering my dreams, even for several weeks. Once i stop smoking the dreams come right back. Just my experience though..

I was beating people for real. Dream I had is as follows. I was or may be part of me in our house. In verendah. I was trying to tell why I was beating people to some of the people. I was trying to find answer why I was beating people. Then they didn't listen. Then I was in our T.V. room then suddenly one of my uncle came through our gate. As I was our T.V. room I was scared. Some of our place kids were also there. Then I woke up frightened.
