Anchor Bay was not allowed to release HiT Era episodes. Their contract extended to Season 5 before being renewed by Gullane. HiT ended up releasing their own episodes by themself (besides Tales From the Tracks VHS was released by FOX)

This DVD was the first time George Carlin's narration of THE VERY FIRST EPISODE OF THE SHOW was ever released on home media; before this, if you wanted to watch George Carlin's dub of the episode, you'd of had to have prayed your parents taped the Shining Time Station episode with it on there, because the only other way you could get it was by getting the video, "Thomas Gets Tricked and Other Stories"... which was narrated by Ringo Starr.

My defense on the release of ‘the fogman’ in this vhs, this episode has the scenario of fog covering everywhere, it enhances that unsettling insecurity of any possible dangers through the engine’s perspectives. It’s all about THRILLS and I guess that’s the reason this episode is on this release. BTW have a happy Halloween mate ;)

I honestly agree with your concept of Thomas' Halloween Adventures, I myself who lives in america, always find it funny that Thomas Gets Tricked, Diesel's Devilish Deed, and Gordon and the gremlin are in this dvd, despite them not having scary elements in them. but I think, duncan gets spooked, rusty and the boulder, Halloween, and other episodes mentioned are perfect the DVD. and If your wondering why I didn't count the fogman, in my opinion, when it comes the fog, it sometimes have some spooky spooky vibe to it.

I kind of noticed they added episodes such as "Dirty work," "Thomas and Gordon," and even "The Fogman." Like these didn't feel like it was Halloween episodes. Wished they would've put Duncan Gets Spooked and even Stepney gets lost. That would've been better. Or heck even added Salty's storm tales, cos it happened in terrible weather, that also scared me knowing that a lighthouse has gone out and a ship is going to crash to the rocks.

I remember when Brandon Hargus and Splendid Engine Studios both made fan edits of Thomas' Halloween Adventures with better episodes choice, like Stepney gets Lost, Duncan gets Spooked, Jack Frost, and Thomas and the Serach for Fergus. Splendid Engine Studios was a little similar only being in the Archor Bay Style, a different title, and a fan edit of the us dub of a Bad Day at Castle Loch and Thomas and the Serach for Fergus with the original music. Sadly, both of the Fan edits are gone due to copyright.

Honestly, I find the selection of Best Of Thomad to be a mess. The 3 episode storyline of his transition is out of order, A New Friend For Thomas is a baffling choice, Thomas Meets The Queen is more Gordon focused and should have been included on Best Of Gordon instead, and episodes such as Thomas And The Special Letter, Thomas And Bertie's Great Race, Thomas Goes Fishing, and Thomas Gets Tricked, as you mentioned, would have been better potential options.

I mean, you know, Thomas Gets Tricked? That spooky Halloween episode where Gordon messes with Thomas's mind and drags him across Sodor until he's traumatised? Wait, what do you mean that's not Halloween themeed? Rubbish... To be fair, even Seasonal Scrapes or even the almighty Chases, Races and Runaways had an episode or two that didn't belong. The franchise's track record with home media organisation has never been great, and like you said, it has been milked beyond belief... But on the other hand, it at least has SOME spooky/creepy/scary episodes on there, similar to Spooks and Surprises, so there's at least some effort. It's not like Chad Valley where they just threw random episodes on a reel of tape, slipped it into a cardboard box, and threw it out into the world...

As someone who owned this dvd as a child and now owns it again as an adult, I enjoyed it very much. But now older and wiser I agree with some of the episode choices being not good picks for this Halloween dvd. That and I feel like the list mentioned in this video works 10 times better than what the dvd offers.

It's very confusing that "Thomas gets Tricked", "Diesel's Devious Deed", "Gordon and the Gremlin", and "The Fogman" are included on "Thomas' Halloween Adventures", despite those four episodes aren't even spooky episodes. Those four episodes could've been replaced by "Stepney gets Lost", "Duncan gets Spooked", "Jack Frost", and "Thomas and the Search for Fergus" (which is mainly titled "Fergus breaks the Rules"). Plus the second song on the release could've been "There Once was an Engine Who Ran Away" instead of "Engine Roll Call". Plus also if there was a twelfth episode on the release, then the twelfth episode could've been "Percy's Scary Tale".

Tbh Spills and Chills is a better DVD to watch during the Halloween season I remember buying this DVD and watching it for the first time. There are many spooky episodes however you’re right. “Thomas gets tricked” “diesels devious deed” “Gordon and the gremlin” and the fogman aren’t relevant to this DVD. Instead of those episodes it should’ve been “Halloween”, “Duncan gets spooked” “Stepney gets lost” and maybe even “Escape”. I still think Spills and Chills is a better DVD to watch during Halloween. I’ll probably watch both of them in the next few days

Yo dude, I put your idea for this release into video form; ended up totaling 78 minutes; I did make a few changes, mainly where songs are concerned. I added 3 songs, totaling 5 songs on the release. These were: "Brave Little Engine" [Plays after 'Haunted Henry' and before 'Stepney Gets Lost'], "Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining" [Plays after 'Duncan Gets Spooked' and before 'Rusty and the Boulder'], "Boo Boo Choo Choo" [as per the official release; plays after 'Percy and the Haunted Mine' and before 'Jack Frost'], and "There Once was an Engine Who Ran Away" [Plays after 'Thomas and the Search for Fergus' and before 'Halloween'], and of course, after "Halloween", we get the "Engine Roll Call". I also added in the 'Good Morning' and 'Good Night' segments from the PBS airings, mainly because the release didn't feel complete without them. Took me 5-6 hours through the night and early morning to edit together and get right; it is now 11:28 in the morning, and I am tired as hell right now XD

Personally, I always enjoyed this DVD as a kid. Mainly because I always loved most of the spooky episodes. However, I will admit I was confused why there were episodes like Thomas gets tricked, Diesel's Devious Deed, and the Fogman were on there. Also, I have to agree why Halloween or some of the best Season 5 episodes weren't on the DVD. Overall, though, I still enjoy this DVD, but I would've preferred if they did it the way you did it at 6:27. That being said, after I watched this video, I decided to make a playlist that includes all of the episodes you showed at 6:27, as well as a few other episodes that I think should've been on the DVD. If it were perfect it would have the following episodes Percy's ghostly trick Thomas Percy and the Dragon Haunted Henry Stepney gets lost Toby's discovery Duncan gets spooked Rusty and the boulder scaredy engines Percy and the haunted mine a bad day at Castle Loch Salty's stormy Tale and Thomas and the search for Fergus the three seasons 7 episodes I mentioned have the mike and Junior music and if the season 8 episode Halloween is included the season 7 episodes have the Robert music. And with this episode list I call it the real Thomas's Halloween adventures.

Percy's Ghostly Trick Thomas, Percy and the Dragon Escape* Granpuff* Rusty to the Rescue* Cranky Bugs* Haunted Henry Stepney Gets Lost Toby's Discovery Duncan Gets Spooked Scaredy Engines Percy and the Haunted Mine Jack Frost A Bad Day at Castle Loch Fergus Breaks the Rules Halloween Flour Power Then again this list may be too long, Escape and Rusty to the Rescue both have that spooky atmosphere when said engines are rescued, I picked Granpuff due to Smudger and how Thomas ends it on a Cliffhanger which in turn would be kinda spooky, and Cranky Bugs because the storm scene is easily one of the darkest and eeriest scenes in the entire show. I gave then all * to symbolize them as maybe choices. Similarly Flour Power may have been too soon to release on a compilation so IDK. These are just my potential choices along with the ones we should have definitely had.
