I remember Sif made an appearance in Loki. He was in a loop where she came with her hair cut and very mad at him. It was a reference to actual Norse mythology. I'm actually kind of happy you addressed the idea of other mythological figures being made into superheroes cuz I always wanted to see other archangels other than Lucifer being given superhero like titles cuz Lucifer Morningstar had the DC comics and then not so comic accurate Netflix show but personally I always thought azreal (death) was kind of an interesting angel to be Given a comic since she's kinda understated And of course marvel has a Hercules/Heracles but he's not even that popular for some reason And recently Moon knight's been addressing Egyptian gods but I could see Egyptian demigods being superheroes or even some of their gods like their god of wind

Lady Thor is Jane Foster with cancer and her wielding Mjolnir made it where the cancer didn't affect her while she had it, but when she wasn't using it the cancer came back stronger. Also Gorr the God Butcher is the main villain and I hope they mention the Klyntar race or Knull with his weapon All Black's origin and even introduce Hercules into the MCU since in the comics he is Thor's rival among all of the other heroes

Jane foster Thor comic is pretty good, would suggest you to read. Though her other Avengers run are boring af. Her Thor solo series was fun to read. And the prelude to jane foster Thor was also fun on what fury said to Thor that made Thor unworthy of mijonir. And the god bucher story arc is one of my favourite Thor comic. 6:00 would suggest you to read it and maybe you like it. But again have to emphasize, only her solo series!

I haven't read the Thor run with Jane as Thor but after years of hearing it was bad (from people haven't read it ) I saw a really good video about why it was a good run and the most important part was that she was dying from cancer and when she was Thor she was healthy and was able to be the hero she need to be but with each time she used the power it spreads the cancer more and more Killing her and if they use some of those elements in the film it could be a very powerful and emotional story

To me they were ok and good a lot of times (so long as they were on the Thor books, outside of them sometimes she was kinda meh), the last arc or two felt like a bit of a downgrade and the way it ended was not exactly good to me, but I do recommend you read them. At the end of the day, only you can tell if something is to your liking or not. Especially since when the book came out, a lot of people complained about it even though it was very obvious that a lot of them either didn't read them or just read them with the mentality of hating them (not all of them, mind you). But yeah, that's my input in the matter

I love Jane Foster Thor, I think it's run in the comics was pretty great and it's an interesting direction to take a relatively plain character I like it when they take nothing characters basically and give them more stuff to do. As you can do waaay more with them than any other character. Look at spider Gwen for an example. She is very , very different from Thor Odinson .

I don't think they wanted to intro a completely new character. While these characters exist in Norse Myth they don't really appear in the comics. And also, Jane at the time of being Worthy, was battling Cancer, and Thor had felt like he was not worthy of the Hammer but Thor was still needed so it goes to Jane to stop... I forgot what. But really give Fem Thor a shot. It's a good run.

Jane was already Sif for a while, so it really overcomplicates things to turn her into Thor too. Then after the Thor stuff finished, they turned her into Valkryie. Such good writing. lol They didn’t need to introduce a new character, to make a new female Norse solo-hero. They already had Valkyrie, Sif, and they even bought rights to Angela (who they decided to adapt as Thor’s sister for whatever reason). And MCU Valkyrie was very likable and had way more chemistry with Thor than Sif or Jane ever did.

Then she split from Sif and later became Thor in the comics for a while, then after she lost her Thor powers, Jane gained Valkyrie powers, and now has a solo run as Valkyrie. Yea, all 3 are characters tied to the Norse side of marvel. That’s my point. They had 3 preexisting Norse themed female superheroes, who all could have taken focus for a solo-comic, but instead they made a female Thor. So I don’t even know what you’re trying to argue against. Talk about comments not making sense.... >_> Valkyrie being Lesbian wasn’t shown at all, in the entirety of Thor Ragnarok, and only established later on. So no their chemistry was very easily interpretable as romantic, and she clearly would have worked far better as a love interest than either Sif or Jane. And friendship chemistry isn’t that far off from romantic chemistry anyways, if two people can’t work as friends, then clearly they aren’t going to work as a couple. Not that I buy for a second, that they were intended to be platonic during the filming of Ragnarok.

I think there's still a chance of beta ray bill showing up but Jane foster as Thor does have a really interesting development so try to not go into the film with criticism in mind cause if that's what you're looking for, you'll always find something to critique that will take the enjoyment of the film away from you

Pretty sure the blue haired lady is supposed to be the Marvel Character Snowbird But I don't think that's Mt Olympus we're seeing, but rather Omnipotent City, a location in the comics were multiple pantheons meet up to discuss things, which plays a key role in the "God Butcher" storyline this film is adapting, for evidence, you note a Sakura tree in one of the shot of the city, and in the crowd you'll see several characters that look like they belong to different Myth including Hindu and Buddhist Mythos, and I think I even spied the Jade Emperor

New sub here, though not THAT new. Thor fan and also fan of Jane Foster-Thor's run and actually it's *really* well written in my opinion. If they can do the comic justice, I'll be happy. The character arc is actually really Jane centric and gives her her own voice.

My problem with Jane thor isn't i think it's bad or that it centered around a woman. No. My problem is that the writers felt they needed to make a strong female character be tied to a well beloved male one in order to get some attention. I feel like if your going to be making a female hero, it should be original and not have to rely on the popularity of a male character in order to blow up. It's one of my many gripes with batwoman.

Personally I'm very Interested in how Zeus would be portrayed mainly because he really isn't a nice god, sure he is the king of olympus but that doesn't mean he's nice. I also noticed in the scene you pointed out their seems to be 2 women I think the one who's on screen could be one of Zeus's followers or kids because they appear to be praying or begging (which Hera wouldn't do) however the one barely on screen it most likely Hera being Queen of the Heaven's and all that. I hope you enjoyed my theory (if you could call it that).
