4:58 Why do you like this movie?
8:33 Isn't Perseus a son of Poseidon?
9:12 Didn't Perseus ride Pegasus?
9:42 You missed some children of Zeus
10:50 Wasn't Dionysus born mortal?
12:22 Aren't there more mortals who became gods?
13:13 That Nemean Lion skin is actually Scar
14:13 You said the plural for Cyclops wrong
14:58 Gladiators were Roman, not Greek
16:17 You were wrong about the Hydra
21:48 Heracles' nephew helped him in the myth
23:03 Stop correcting the name so much
24:24 2 of the labors were mentioned by Phil
25:06 Some of the labors are in the tv show
25:47 Will you do a video on the tv show?
27:02 Will you do other Hercules movies?
29:06 Why don't you have a sin counter?

In-universe, Percy Jackson is named after Perseus because he's one of the few heroes with an unambiguously happy ending, as opposed to, say, Jason. I think Percy directly comments on being named after a son of Zeus in "Percy Jackson and the Greek Heroes". Some versions of the myth have Perseus riding Pegasus to defeat the sea monster, rather than using winged sandals. I'm not sure how he gets to Medusa's island in the first place in those versions, though...

As one of the people who commented about the Hydra thing, I would like to say that I actually walked away from that video knowing more about the history of the Hydra story myself. Until I saw the video, the only stories I had known were the "two heads for every one" version. But I knew that Greek mythology changed over time, so I decided to look it up before leaving a comment. I still left a comment about it, but it was more along the lines of "the way you described it is only how some stories went." So we all learned a little something that day, so... mission accomplished either way, I guess.

I think it's very mature of you to touch back on that video, especially about the hydra segment of the movie. Keeping track of the mythology canon is like keeping track of comics--they're all considered canon, just not canon to each other. I still enjoy Hercules, and now I enjoy it more with your "sin tally" for lack of a better term. I think being able to nitpick everything in something you love shows your love, especially if your love for it doesn't diminish. If I might add something to the inaccuracy video, I think it would have been cool if you had mentioned Hercules bumping his head on the mast of the Argo being a nod to Jason dying when the mast of the Argo hit his head (even if the voyage of the Argonauts hasn't happened yet at this point). It might also have been cool to mention Philoctetes becoming a hero himself in the Trojan War, even serving a critical role with Heracles' old bow.

As far a the Hydra goes, I would say that you were not wrong. This particular story is thousands of years old and myths tend to change from word of mouth. The first guy who told the story probably said "The Hydra has nine heads, and for every one that is cut off another takes its place." Then someone heard the story said "That's cool, but you know what would be cooler! For every head that is cut off three more take its place." It's hard to find any source material that gives a definitive answer when it comes to how many heads the Hydra has.

As a long time fan of CinemaSins, I still think you did an awesome job with your Hercules video. It was extremely informative while still being very entertaining (and kept the humor clean). Some people just don’t understand parodies or the Heracles running gag. Even though the tv show wasn’t as great, I’d definitely still watch an inaccuracy video on it. What if you did shorter videos of a few episodes at a time? There were over 60 episodes that are like 20 mins each, so breaking it down into smaller chunks would be more manageable.

Regarding the hydra thing, as someone whose families come from cultures with strong folkloric traditions, it's very possible that certain families have their own versions of the stories that diverge from the commonly accepted one. Especially regarding the finer details. Considering how Greece started as a loose collection of kingdoms and city states, with each being their own separate yet related culture, it stands to reason that may be the case.

There was an animated version of the Heracles myth I saw when I was young, can't remember the name, but it had Heracles fight the Hydra with a younger person, who kept getting ideas from the Goddess of Intervention, such as burning the Hydra neck stumps. Honestly one of my favourite versions of the Hydra myth 'cause it ends with Heracles cursing out Hera and dodging at the last second so the Hydra gets Smited instead.

I thought there were myths about a version of Dionysus who was born mortal and was elevated to godhood as a reward for inventing wine. I think that's why some people argue that Dionysus counted as a mortal child of Zeus.

It’s kinda like what Zack from Wow Such Gaming does with zombie sins. He was also inspired by cinema sins when making the series. But in his case he includes the son counter.

I loved your Hercules inaccuracies video. Could you please make a video telling the more accurate version(s) of the myth? I'd love to watch something like that 🙏🙏✨

I grew up watching the Kevin Sorbo series. Love it. It is what made me first interested in mythology. I would love if you did something with it, even though I know it's not the most accurate.

I think the idea of Perseus riding Pegasus may have come from art. A lot of Renaissance paintings depict it that way.

Found your Chanel yesterday. Always love hearing about mythology, think it’s good you make a video to respond to comments and discuss mistakes you may have made. Makes the content overall better. Look forward to seeing further videos on mythologies and film/games/shows which explore mythologies. Would you be interested in exploring Neil Gaiman American Gods and how the book/cancelled show portrayed deities?

I like you Mythology Guy. I wish I knew your name but I want you to know you make excellent videos which I learn a lot from every time. I love mythology because it's an opposite culture to my Judaism so it's always fun to learn about a different culture. Besides the Hercules TV show nothing would please me more than to see you react to the Xena show. Because I am 100 % sure Xena has a lot of inaccuracies as well I just don't know enough to point it out but for you it will be super easy.

I’m glad to hear the amount of content isn’t as shallow as I had thought. It seems there are at least 2 years of analyzing shows, movies and games. Ideas for when you run out of media to cover? I’m thinking anime and analyzing characters, peal of their skin and see if there are deity under the hood.
