Thor's much greater versatility gives him the win. I'm so sick of people constantly saying ''well Doomsday can evolve and adapt'' that is true but it takes him a long time to evolve and usually he has to die before he comes back better and stronger i also doubt he's going to adapt to all of Thor's attacks and powers. Also a lot of the adaptations Doomsday develops are the person he's fighting weakness like fire for Martian Manhunter or kryptonite bones for superman and Thor doesn't have any specific weakness like MM or Stupidman. And finally Thor's faced worse i.e Surtur, Mangog, Midgard Serpent, the Serpent, Kurse, Galactus, Ego, Celestials, Destroyer etc....

Thor wouldn't take Doomsday out, that's impossible. I'm no fan but use common logic, Doomsday will involuntarily come back alive no matter how many times you kill him, this is more of a stale mate, Thor may be able to knock him out or even kill him once or twice maybe kill him even 20 times or more but eventually Doomsday will be immune to every possible way Thor can use to kill him, Thor will run out of ways to kill it, all Thor would be able to do is knock him out, and even with time Doomsday will adapt the longer it goes eventually adapting to Thor and leaving Thor hopeless. So in the end it's a stale mate. Thor wins the battle. First few encounters I agree Thor takes it but Doomsday wins the War.

Yes, Doomsday could "evolve" to become immune to whatever Thor does to kill him EVENTUALLY, but in a random first encounter Thor whoops Doomsday's arse. Even if Thor can't physically KILL Doomsday, he doesn't have to kill him to win a fight. Superman once eat Doomsday by taking him to the edge of time and space and standing him there. Being that Thor could readily travel to all 9 realms he can go to any nook or cranny in the universe and do the same thing. This without even having to resort to using the Odin Force, Thor Force, or the Godblast. *Thor wins.*

Everything you said here was true. Thor has so many more abilities than most are aware of for the reasons stated: essentially he much prefers to beat opponents at their own level. He is also a god of war, and has mastered every weapon and fighting technique, though again, he prefers a brawl. He has used his inter-dimensional portals, matter manipulation/transmutation powers, and everyone forgets about his belt of strength, that doubles his power, because he does not like to use it unless absolutely necessary. People also forget Thor's indomitable will when he sets his mind on an objective-even managing to defeat Hela because he will do whatever it takes to win the battle as he did with her and with Kurse, as well. Absolutely: Doomsday could be presented in a very plausible scenario where he wins, but the odds are clearly with Odinson here. Recall a Thor has stood up to Sky-Father level beings and left standing, where Superman had his cape handed to him and Hulk was defeated by brute strength alone, each by Zeus.

I say all the time in these match-ups that when Doomsday goes up against powerhouse opponents, i have no problem giving the victory to Doomsday's opponent. Sure it will be a battle, a struggle, but it wont be an easy win for the opponent. However, the real challenge comes when one has to face a newly resurrected Doomsday. One that is now immuned to that which killed him. One that is now much stronger, durable, more resistant. This is now another monster altogether. Thas the real challenge. What would Thor do when he has a monster that is now built, designed to withstand everything he has to throw at him. Doomsday is a unstoppable force to be reckoned with. A newly resurrected Doomsday is the real challenge for Thor.
