Thor doesn't have a counter for the invisibility and the illusions will be problematic also. He's experienced with them from Loki but not immune. The path to victory over the thunder god has always been to outsmart him and I believe manhunter could do just that.

Initially I thought Thor has 50% chance at this but I did a lot of research and now I can confirm that the conclusion was indeed wrong. Thor has lesser chances of winning this fight. Most of Jonzz abilities are overlooked here too, 1. Molecular regeneration i. e he can regenerate from a single molecule 2. His telepathy is too powerful to beat when he decides to kill. 3. He can create illusions in the minds of opponents once he gets hold of it. 4. He can shrink and grow in size like Ant man at will but with all the same abilities with him. 5. He has Superspeed, Superstamina and super endurance better than Superman. 6. Nothing can hide from his Martian vision which is better than Superman 's vision. 7. He is extremely intelligent with nine senses, telekinesis and psychokinesis combined. You can't fool him easily. He would smell it. 8. There is more but I am selecting the most lethal ones. NOW, Thor had fought opponents who have any one or some of these abilities not all of them in one being. Therefore, even with the help of his father's gift (Mjolnir), he cannot beat an opponent who has these many abilities combined together, and especially not the best in those abilities in that universe. It's extremely hard for him to do so. Now I can see that you chose Thor out of opinion, not analysis.

Martian Manhunter is no longer vulnerable to fire as he overcame his fear. You forgot to explain how Thor could see him when he is invisible and that his illusions would easily work against Thor as Loki uses them all the time. Manhunter could have Thor battle multiple illusions whilst he remains intangible and invisible.

Manhunter has TWO main advantages here (among others): 1. His speed. He's way, WAY faster than Thor. The speed difference is truly ridiculous. 2. His telepathy. Thor might be resistant, but he's not invulnerable to it, and J'onn has experience dealing with that. Here's how it goes: They exchange blows initially, sizing each other up physically, while J'onn also subtly sizes Thor up mentally. Thor strikes J'onn, and J'onn allows himself to be knocked some distance away to give himself space and time to work. He uses his shape-shifting to blend into the environment, perhaps turning into a civilian. Since this is NOT an illusion, Thor is unable to see through it, and can't easily locate J'onn. J'onn reads Thor's surface thoughts and learns much about him - his identity and abilities, what he thinks of himself, etc - the things that ANY telepath would be able to easily learn about ANYONE, because they're literally RIGHT THERE to see. Having figured out that a direct, all-out telepathic assault against Thor's formidable mind will be difficult, J'onn instead opts for subtlety. While Thor is searching for him, calling him out as a coward, etc., J'onn begins subtly stroking Thor's very large, VERY obvious ego. J'onn reveals himself and attacks Thor. Again they trade blows, J'onn allowing himself to appear JUST a bit weaker and MUCH slower than he actually is, all the while continuing the telepathic influencing, and reinforcing it with words. He again allows Thor to knock him away. This time, he doesn't hide, and allows Thor to see him "struggling" to get back to his feet. Thor begins feeling himself, starts talking trash, and just generally being Thor - but more so than usual. Because his behavior isn't completely out of the ordinary for him, he doesn't realize he's being manipulated. J'onn even shape-shifts some bruises and wounds to reinforce his part. J'onn slowly gets up, looking a bit banged up and winded, but no so much that he overplays his hand. As Thor continues his trash talk, J'onn pretends to be annoyed, and says something like, "Your power is formidable, Asgardian, but your sole advantage lies in your weapon. ANYONE wielding such a weapon would be unbeatable. Without it, you are NOTHING!", and uses subtle telepathic touches to reinforce his words. Thor, feeling deeply superior, seeing a wounded enemy stalling for time, and feeling VERY confident that this guy has nothing for him, says something like, "Verily? I say thee nay. The god of thunder does not need mighty Mjolnir to dispense with the likes of thee!" Then, confident that J'onn would be unable to lift Mjolnir (whether or not he actually could is a subject for another discussion, but we'll assume for now that Thor is correct), he drops his hammer and proceeds to lay into J'onn again. J'onn strategically swats Thor far away from Mjolnir, just to put some distance between them, and follows after Thor to continue the fight. As Thor lands, it occurs to him that his opponent may not have been quite as wounded as he appeared to be. But instead of giving him pause, this makes Thor smile, because this may turn out to be a worthy fight after all. (Having set his hammer down, he cannot now pick it back up because to do so would be to admit that his opponent was right, and that he can't win without it. THAT would wound Thor's pride even under normal circumstances, but under telepathic manipulation, it is now absolutely unthinkable. J'onn has cleverly kept his manipulation within a range of behavior that is not completely outside the norm for Thor, and that's why it works). J'onn follows Thor and the fight begins in earnest. They trade some blows, but are pretty evenly matched, since J'onn is still holding back his speed and appearing to be a bit weaker than he is to make sure that his telepathic influence REALLY sticks. For his part, Thor, not being stupid, begins to think something's not quite right here, but he doesn't know what. As soon as that thought crosses Thor's mind, J'onn knows his time being able to influence Thor is almost up. He turns on the jets, goes all out, and Thor finally realizes that he's been played (even though he's not sure how), just before J'onn knocks him the f*** out. When he comes to, he and J'onn grab tankards of beer, and Thor celebrates him as a worthy opponent, though he is still confident that J'onn only won because he got in a lucky shot. J'onn allows him to think that. Winner: Martian Manhunter

@@BenTennyson10494 First, you should learn to properly punctuate and edit your comments. Nothing you said made any sense. It basically sounds like "Thor wins because Thor!" Second, I'm not even banking on J'onn's phasing here, but if he used it, it would be defensive rather than offensive, and in conjunction with his invisibility and shape-shifting to effectively disappear and render Thor totally unable to find him, which would allow him to strike at super speed, from instant concealment, that Thor would be unable to counter AT ALL. Third, I accounted for Thor being resistant to overt telepathic attack by having J'onn use subtle telepathic nudging that stays within the bounds of Thor's normal behavior, and would therefore go mostly unnoticed by him. Even then, I said that Thor would probably eventually figure out that there was SOMETHING going on; that he'd been tricked somehow, but that he wouldn't know HOW, because J'onn would be THAT subtle. If J'onn just came right out with telepathic mind blasts and all that, Thor would probably be affected, but he'd be far more resistant to it, because he's built to withstand that kind of thing. But subtle manipulation, with slight, gentle telepathic nudges, that doesn't try to get him to act outside the bounds of his normal behavior (though at the more fringe edges of his normal behavior)? THAT is EXACTLY the kind of telepathic attack EVERYONE is vulnerable to, INCLUDING Thor. Martian Manhunter would win because he's powerful enough to take Thor down physically, AND he has the versatility to attack Thor in other ways that he can't see coming or defend against.

He's even the best in Shapeshifting and can basically regenerate from a single molecule, even Superman himself is scared to go 1v1 with MMH. MMH can go "true invisibility" where even Superman himself can't see and detect him even if Superman can detect invisibility. MMH phasing is different from Vision's phasing so Thor's ability to counter that would differ in his skill, MMH is also one of the best Telepaths in the DC universe beating out gods, cosmic beings and Superman.

It also shattered Mjolnir (when using it one time to crack open a dome) and it was able to hold back Celestials. It pushed back a moving Juggernaut and it's been stated to be impossible by almost everyone. It also cracked open a dome which is stronger than Arishem's Armour which has tanked the combined might of Odin, Zues and Vishnu and Odin has shattered Galaxies so it makes it stronger than Galaxy shattering attacks, lets not forget he did it with Zues and Vishnu who are also powerful. He also provided a third of the power necessary to stop the battle which threatened all of Universe 616. Thor threatened to incapitate Ego with it (a Celestial being none the less). It was also confirmed by Thor himself he can use the blast as much as he likes as well so if he wants to use it MM is screwed. Also the 40 planet thing I don't know why I thought it was 40 because he actually lifted the weight of 20 planets with one arm

It is a tough fight but Thor does come out on top more often than not here. Manhunter's shapeshifting, phasing, intelligence, and telepathy are all powerful tools against Thor here. However Thor has thousands of years of experience fighting Loki who's skillset in those areas rival Manhunter's. Those abilities shared by Loki and Manhunter are some Thor has been contending with since childhood. Couple that with the mystic wisdom Thor received from his father Odin and you've got a warrior god who's likely not just familiar with fighting someone with Manhunter's non-physical skillset, but likely even comfortable with it. Odin is in another league altogether from characters like Manhunter, and Odin charged Thor with being the first line of defense for the warrior race of Asgard as well as the nine realms. Considering how harsh and grueling Odin's standards are that should say a lot about Thor's capabilities.
