Drake is too global to have any one person end his career. Drake's irrelevancy will come only when the public gets tired of his brand of music. I'm not gonna lie, I liked drake's last album. Drake, Kendrick and Cole are the only contemporary mainstream artists that I listen to.

Drake wouldn't have the balls to drop Kendrick OR Jay's name and fire a few shots on wax. But his audience doesn't expect Drizzy to stand up for his self, so he won't. He doesn't need to.
@DVRKSTXR
@DVRKSTXR 10 жыл бұрын
Exactly, both Jay and Kendrick would completely annihilate Drake if need be. Jay Z could definitely put a big dent in his career but as stated in the video he wouldn't be able to "Ja Rule" him. As for Kendrick, if his Control verse was any indication for Drake, then he knows that Kendrick easily outclasses him as a rapper. Its not even a competition between the 2.

Drake honestly needs to stop with the subliminals and just drop names. Straight up. He was brave enough to "diss" Jay but couldn't respond to Kendrick? Like Feefo said, Drake is scared of his career and Hip Hop status being jeopardized. Ignoring isn't an option. It's HIP HOP, beefing comes with the meal.
@AJB4Entertainment
@AJB4Entertainment 10 жыл бұрын
although I agree with how Drake needs to come direct instead of all these subliminal responses like "The Language" and "Draft Day" I still think he could hold his own in a back and forth with Jay-Z. but calling Drake's albums not hip hop is unfair when your boy Rozay has someone singing on half of his hooks Feefo. what's the difference between singing your own hooks or getting someone else to do it.

Dead End Hip-Hop always seem so biased towards Drake. Why do they praise Childish Gambino so much when those two are basically the same artists? -Both make Contemporary R&B on their albums. -Both have what these people would consider to be "soft lyrics". Drake gets bashed for that and Gambino does not? -Both of these artists put out "hard songs" but Drake gets criticized for being a "try hard" but Gambino does not? -Drake gets bashed for having "corny lines" but Gambino doesn't? -Drake gets bashed on DEHH for not being a "lyrical" rapper but Gambino doesn't? Both make different albums as Drake only really raps about his personal life and his experiences or what is going on around him. Whereas Gambino makes more conceptual musical works. But why does Drake get bashed on DEHH a lot but Gambino gets placed on the "top 5" list? Drake and Childish Gambino are both very versatile artists. I just do not get this. I just want to know, why the bias? Also, Feefo tried to downplay Comeback Season as not being a full rap tape. I recall Drake rapping and spitting on all the tracks on that mixtape. That mixtape would ultimately not be considered to have R&B. I want to know where Myke C-Town got his statistics from on Drake's fan base being female by majority. Those "facts" he had stated seem to have come out of his ass. No support for that statement.

You make a good point man, I've pondered the same thing: why am I more inclined to like Bino instead of Drizzy? What makes Childish Gambino a better artist to me is his tones. Drake's tone is of arrogance when he raps, and a repetitive (but catchy) sensitivity that I can't help but feel isn't genuine. I feel as though Drake has spent his career catering to the ears of everyone but himself. Bino gives no fucks it seems. His songs have more reliance on comedy, and his stories are more compelling to me. To be fair, he did start his career as a writer for tv. With that being said, his tonic control and mood setting is impeccable. I see this as Drake painting replicas, while Childish Gambino is making originals.
@BlakaveliX
@BlakaveliX 10 жыл бұрын

@BlakaveliX
@BlakaveliX 10 жыл бұрын
Bellamy Blake "catering to the ears of everyone but himself" What I got from this is Drake is crafting songs that he wants to make. Nothing Was the Same is a very personal album though. All the songs on that LP are from Drake's experiences and whatnot. I respect your opinion on everything else though. For me its polar opposite as I think Drake has the atmospheric, downtempo mood setting down to a science and he is more original than making replicas of music already done. Really though, Drake and Gambino, both of these artists are pretty original and impeccable songwriters once you think about it.

Drake is definitely feeling himself pretty hard. I agree no one can end Drake's career in hip-hop. If there is a end it's Drake finishing off Drake. I cannot see Drake dissing someone and winning that and he's got some wack disses. The Common beef was wack and short. Drake should keep his comments to himself when it comes to other rappers especially legends.

Feefo is right when it comes to Drake's albums. Comeback Season was a mixtape. He got noticed that way. The So Far Gone mixtape is when he started singing more and that's what got him his commercial fame. Ever since Drake got signed, he has not put out a hip hop album. Yes, Jay and Kanye could probably put a dent in Drake's career, but like C Town said, his fans are women and really only die hard hip hop fans would turn on him. The only person who could probably shut down Drake's career is maybe Lil' Wayne because women and men loooooooove Lil' Wayne. They follow that man religiously.

Dam you guys really dont think Drake can spit? Yeah he sings and what not but the guy can rap his ass off when he wants to. Also Jay Z is the king of dissing people and not mentioning names, so you cant be mad at Drake for doing the same thing. This is funny though because Game is always calling out names and all I ever seen from hip-hop fans is "Oh here goes Game name dropping again" "I bet he cant make a song without mentioning a rappers name in it" Hip Hop fans are hilarious, they don't know what they want

Drake, from a November 2011 Village Voice article: To be honest with you, I coined the phrase ‘Dis me, and you’ll never hear a reply for it,’ so for me to go in would be silly. But at the same time, I’m a competitive rapper, so I mean, nobody could ever take a direct shot at me, say my name or do a full song about me, and I sit idly by and take it. Unless it was wack, then I’d just be like, ‘You sound stupid,’ but if it was somebody with bars? I’m going back for sure

In Hip-Hop, it is an established rule to counter any verbal insult. It is not about making "right moves" to heighten ones career. It is about proving your skill. It's like back in the day when (instead of fighting) bboys would have dance offs. To refuse to step up to the plate after an opponent has antagonized you, gains you NO respect. And that is the key word. Respect. Point is: Drake complains about not being respected or praised on a hiphop royalty aspect, yet, he never resolves or proves it

Drake and Ross fall in the same category for me, i dont like either of them but i fucks with their music heavy. Thing is with most people is they cant separate the two so if they dont like the artist as a person, they automatically hate their music.

am I the only guy who thinks Jay's diss was weak, I mean Drakes response werent good either, but why bother when the orginal diss sucked in the first place, everyone is on about how Jay killed Drake, Jay decimated Drake, chill out the verse was pretty mediocre
@Armando316
@Armando316 10 жыл бұрын
It wasn't that good, your right. And to be truthful, Jay-Z hasn't sounded like Jay-Z since he came out of his retirement... But compared to Drake's verse, yeah Jay absolutely decimated him.
@azc29103
@azc29103 10 жыл бұрын
they were both forgettable verse tbf, plus lets not forget, drake had a better verse than jay on both tracks "Pound Cake", and "Light It Up". even though drake is not the kind of rapper who likes to kill people on songs, so can Jay still decimiate him???
@Armando316
@Armando316 10 жыл бұрын
Arran Chander See, I thought Jay was better on Pound Cake, while Drake was better on Light It Up. The thing is, Jay is like not even trying anymore... He's been basically bullshitting on the mic since he's gotten back. But I do believe if Jay really wanted to, he would decimate him, lyrically.
@azc29103
@azc29103 10 жыл бұрын
that is true i suppose, if Jay tried he could decimate anybody, just like if he really tried he could make a good album, Jay is at a point in his career where he doesnt need to though

I don't know man, Drake is pretty comercial. Many people put Kendrick at the top of hip-hop right now...Drake is pretty big but as a singer...He can't touch Kendrick lyrically...I think if Drake gets into a beef with Kendrick or Jay, he will be in trouble

Drake is pretty good rapper, but you can't deny his two tracks like, "Headlines" and "All Me" are dope as hell. Drake can rap when he wants to, so I think for his next album, he should just rap on it.

Myke & Feefo were on point. He sends these hidden message shots, and when they are heard he falls back on "It wasn't personal...but if they felt that way". And like they said, why talk to a Mag about a problem you have with Hov's recent rhymes. Tell Hov yourself...then again he would never.

Nothing wrong with sneak dissing. Silent attack is the best attack and besides Jay-Z had to feel some type of way to respond to Drake. People called Jay out and he just ignored them.

Drake should try an be like Kanye when he first started out .in sense that you can make commercial singles, and sing on your albums but on the verses prove that you deserve to be up there and get a feature (OG artists) that provide a challenge.

HipHop & Rap.......ARE 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT GENRES!!!!!! Never forget that you born in 1997 grasshoppers. Drake.......he's rap. PERIOD! King of the radio. Congrats Drake.....your fan base is 12-19 yrs of age. HipHop isn't mainstream. It can be at time.....but the REAL message is always hidden underground. Who mastered that art of staying underground while being mainstream constantly.....OUTKAST! This will forever be a battle of QUALITY VS. Quantity

Let's not forget that Jay Z ended Mobb Deep. And Drake position in the game is not weakened by his complicated relation with Kendrick and Black Hippy. Odd Future making fun of him. And we can assume that Kanye will back up Jay. This could be the fatal shot.
