i really appreciate how your channel remains with the "old booktube flavor. Nowadays I can only find 40 minutes long reading vlogs and don't get me wrong, they're nice, but sometimes I am really craving for a 6 minutes long video where there's a theme and someone is hyping some books up and I can hardly find videos like this anymore. I really really enjoy this type of content

I dislike reading vlogs. I would prefer to read vs. Watch someone read

@@aletachristopherson7847 I get it, my main problem is trying to find new people to watch because if I don't know the booktuber then I can't find it in myself to care to watch an hour long video. I find myself disassociating midway through and then I have no idea what's going on

omg thank you! Sometimes I think about trying to do long video essays since that seems to be what youtube wants these days, but I don't watch a lot of the myself and I don't have any drive to make them. I'm glad this genre of video is still fun for people!

honestly I believe long reading vlogs don’t have much time left since people are getting used to TikTok’s and shorter content. I think about training an algorithm there to have more of the content I want but KZbin channels are much more accessible since they have titles you can see and better thumbnails

Same. I love rewrap ups and short videos like this.

I’ve definitely been the mood to reread Spinning Silver and the Winternight Trilogy. Planning to revisit Nettle & Bone. Like you and Winter of Witch, I’m tempted to just reread The Empire of Gold.

The Empire of Gold is so good

I’ve really been feeling like rereading Howl’s Moving Castle recently. I read it for the first time years ago and I remember SO MUCH happened in the book that I’m positive I’ll get something new from it.

If you’re a big fan of the forest in Uprooted, I would recommend Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. It’s a much darker book, as a whole; it includes some male gaze, but I feel like it’s deliberately used and interrogated as part of the horror of the story.

I actually DNF’d the first book by Katherine Arden a few years ago, my mood wasn’t aligning with it at the time, but I’m actually going to try again this month! I have a good feeling this time.

I read Uprooted a few years back and sorta kinda liked it, but back then I was mostly a YA reader. Now I think my tastes have matured enough for me to appreciate it more. Kinda wish I didn't unhaul it 😅

"What would I have been if I had never seen the birds" has been in my head for years. I gave it three and a half, but have long suspected I just wasn't ready for it. I should probably try that again sometime.

I would love to reread Sawkill Girls next fall. :) The next book I have firm plans of rereading -hopefully still this year- is Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.

NO Fifth Season?

like I mentioned, I want to re-read all of my favorite books! but Fifth Season isn't at the top of the list because they are such heavy reads that it can be hard to want to re-visit it.
