@@roybradshaw4252 if you qualified that with "in metal" I would be more inclined to agree...more so now than when she was with Nightwish though as her voice has matured a lot. For a lyrical singer the older you get (up to a point) the better your voice should get. That is a big part of why there are not a lot of young opera singers in lead roles.

She really is, but what makes her a good role model is that besides being incredibly talented and lucky to have come where she is now, she also works *very* hard to be where she is and to be as good as she is, without losing track of being kind and humble. Great reaction! This genre of music is known as Symphonic Metal. FYI: There were 82,000+ in the audience that night. GLS is the 13th of 15 songs that NW performed that night. That is how you know a song is great, when it is 10+ minutes and they are like " It finished?" That song has the ability to pull you in and get so engrossed with all the emotions that you will feel, and all of a sudden it is over. Hey sweeties, it makes this old Metal fan so happy to see you enjoy this music. The singer is Floor Jansen from Holland. We studied together classical singing and opera is a part of that. Floor is amazing in every way. She uses classical headvoice, sweet chestvoice and her belting rock voice changing constant and there are not many singers that do what she does. She is also sweet and married a Swedish Metal drummer from Sabaton. Big in Europe. They have a little daughter Freya (germanic Goddess) and they live in the mountains of Sweden. Die has horses too. Her bandmembers are Finnish and one of the best musicians. Floor is really sweet. Classic and Metal go very well together, because they both need skills, lots of training and many metal musicians love to haar classic and are classical trained. I loved your reaction, you were spot on! The girl in the middle was hynotised and felt the changing rythms very well. Enjoy music, make music. I am teaching my 3 girls hoe to sing and play guitar. They love it. Otherwise they dont have too, I want them to do what makes them happy. And you made me happy. Thank you❤

The band is from Finland, formed in 1996 by Tuomas Holopainen (composer/songwriter/keyboardist), Emppu Vuorinen (guitarist), and former vocalist Tarja Turunen. The current vocalist is the Dutch wonder, our Queen, Floor Jansen. I love the fact that you girls started headbanging when Floor did! That made my day! And by the way, if you wanted to, you could react to the whole Wacken 2013 concert -- in one shot. But it is about 70 minutes long, so it is well worth it. You guys give me hope for your generation -- because I honestly feel like too many young people listen to music that is too musically simple. And you three young ladies are changing my mind, giving me hope that perhaps, the generation you are part of will love the kind of music that is such an inspiration. She can also growl, do full on opera vocals, and the bass player has an amazing voice as well! He sings in many of their songs! The keyboard player writes almost all of the lyrics and music, he's the true genius. Welcome to the Nightwish Army!
