Glad I ran across this. This is the kind of information I have been looking for. I've been playing rhythm guitar for decades in church. I thought my strumming had become stale and boring. I found a teacher nearby online. I just wanted one lesson to give me ideas to break out of the same old patterns I had been using. I basically just gave him my money. I learned nothing. Its very hard to find teachers that teach rhythm. Every teacher I've used just wants to teach students to solo. When I see videos like this I realize I don't know what I don't know.

Outstanding as usual, Charl. Rhythm is where the guitar naturally finds its place here in the 2020s. So yes, rhythm lessons like this are very valuable to me.

Thanks for sharing and demonstrate how to use the various fast and advance syncopation strum patterns for modern worship guitar. Tabbing these strum patterns are one of the hardest I find because of the fast down up miss and remaining in time, Normally i will play according to the drummer beats and listen to the bass to keep in time. Can you share more on these topics.

I can follow the beat as written one strum at a time but you play more strums and I don't quite get where my upstrokes should be.
