The heavy F350 went out into a field on the hunting property to check some cameras and such, and sank in the saturated soft ground, called in back up and the back up got stuck, so then they called in a second back up, and they also got stuck but they got stuck at the entrance and didn't even make it into the field.

Never ceases to amaze me how these guys all take these huge crew cab diesels off road in the mud and then are surprised when they get stuck. Too much weight is no good for off roading on soft and wet ground.

I use an 8x8 Argo for stuff like this. Never too soft and with a big mower engine, it will run all day long on 8 gallons. Also floats.

7 to 8000 on the f350 weight + resistance. Those grass pond like that suck, break the surface and you are stuck and it doesn't help when you dig it to China! I have seen 5-6 trucks stuck here in Central Florida in a grass pond, really sucks when you have 2 of stuck together with a tight rope in between them.

We have a tazer module it uses the abs solenoids to lock all the brakes You push the brake pedal down hit a few buttons and the red brake light starts flashing on the dash to let you know it’s on Let go of the brake pedal and all brakes are now locked

I just went out n bought me a Harbor Freight 12,000 Apex n a winch cradle with 20 foot heavy gauge jumper cables after watching ur videos. I’m gonna weld some D rings to the back of the cradle, that way as long as I can anchor to any sturdy point or a Reese hitch of course n wire the heavy gauge jumper cables to the factory winch lines so I can hook up to pretty much any vehicle granted the batteries are within the cables length…

Weights seemed to be covered in comments. For tow length for something like those vehicles were with dry ground in area twice the length of the vehicle at a minimum. Have you had to replace anything on your jeep that broke from all the towing, besides mirrors getting knocked off? Great videos keep them coming.

Curb weight of a truck like that is about 7,500lbs... But that doesn't take into account any additional personal cargo in it etc, modifications like oversized wheels / tires etc... but the biggest determining factor is the additional load resistance from miring. that can vary dramatically depending on the consistency of the mud/water/terrain etc. They don't help by spinning the tires, it just continues digging trenches... the idea is to allow the tires to slowly roll up on top as it's pulled. Having the right tires makes difference too... those light duty Street tires can't self clean & they just grease up & are of no help.

I noticed that people try to drive out as you winch. Spinning the tires the whole time digging in as you pull. If they let you pull only and just roll the tires you could get on top faster.

If I had to guess: I would say the f350 is about 140% the weight of the jeep. My Gladiator is 6,250 pounds so... About 8,500 pounds? I'm not curious enough to look it up just yet.

You sure you didn't add an extra ton to that? My Ram 3500 4WD Cummins dually, crew cab with long bed weighs 7300 pounds. I even looked at the data tags on the inside door, though you have to do some math to come up with weight of just the truck. They list the max weight of the truck fully loaded as 12,300 pounds and the max load weight as just shy of 5000 pounds. So 12,300-5000= 7300 pounds for just the truck..

Most modern dually trucks have a gross weight of 14,000lbs. 12,300 sounds like a single rear wheel truck.

I have a 2002 F350 with 7.3L diesel. They are STUPID heavy. It will instantly sink to the bottom of any mud or sand. I used to drive over a little curb to pull into my yard everyday, and the front leafs broke.. that's how heavy they are. It's ridiculous; and a whole different world that gas trucks

my 01 is a 1 wheel wonder being 2wd open diff and it gets stuck if I get 1 wheel on wet grass. if you want to run these trucks in the mud you need some monster truck tires.

@@imchris5000 Yeah.. Mine is 6spd manual 4x4.. and it still gets stuck in 2 inches of mud. :).. Lockers are a must, or you're just not getting out-- without help. The weight difference is massive. It's the same way with sports bikes (crotch rockets).. I built a CBR600 into a quad and it was fast-- but it was way too heavy compared to regular quads like a 450R or banshee. People that have no experience in either one of these things, don't realize just how different the weight is.
